Hi, i recently bought a motorola ming a1200 from india and bought it to canada. I cant seem to work the english letters on the phone. When i am texting or renaming some kind of folder i cant type any english letters at all. Also when i try to handwrite it it wont work. The numbers work fine

these are the keyboards it lets me choose when typing (touch screen btw)

    Frenchboard
    Turkishboard
    numberpicker
    handwriting
    pinyinboard
    zhuyinboard

they all work except the french and turkish ones (the only ones were there are english letters) Once again i can type numbers but no letters

Could you please let me know how to fix this or what to do.

    Thanks

You may have to track down an english language pack for it. Try looking at www.motomodders.net 's download page. There might be one there. You won't find much support though because that is a european model.

I am somewhat suprised a phone purchased in India did not have English as an available option. It is a stab in the dark, but have you tried contacting Motorola about an English language pack?

I've never installed games via USB as I do not play games on my phones. I know it can be done though.

First find some java games compatible with the A1200. You can find them on some moto sites and ebay. Problem is most require a full keypad to play even though they will load on your 1200.

Next, send the .jar file over to your cell from your computer via usb, BT ..ect.

Then find the file with file manager and open or double click. The 1200 will let you know whats next.Enjoy.

    Good Things...

On my Motorola (L2) it's under "settings/initial setup/time and date/autoupdate = on" in order to receive the time display from your provider's network.
