Since the Motorizr, not released in US yet, is a quad-band phone and it operates on 850/900/1800/1900 and Verizon uses the frequencies 800 and 1900mHz would it be possible for the motorizr to be availiable for verizon when it is released?

As of now, no, because the moto RIZR uses GSM technology, and Verizon uses CDMA technology.

Verizon might get the RIZR if Motorola makes a CDMA version of it.

To expand this, CDMA and GSM are two opposing standards, think of VHS and Betamax, same thing but completely incompatible. Chances are that the Motorizr will not become CDMA anytime soon, it's primary target market was apparently Asia, CDMA useage is small in comparison to GSM, at least if you think on a global scale, so a lot of consumer devices are first, or only, targetted at Asia and Europe. Wish I had better news xxrichardxx9212

Sadly chances are the RIZR isn't going to be anywhere near as popular as the RAZR so ill just have to make due with verizons current phones....that KRZR is looking pretty sleek....:browani:

CES is just around the corner. If there was a yet to be seen new Verizon branded RIZR ZXxx in the works, it would make sense they would announce it there. That is just an educated guess, I don't have any actual knowledge of this being true.

Well the new Moto RIZR Z6 was announced. A Verizon branded RIZR Z6 hasn't been announced. Yet.

In my opinion the Z6 is my favorite. Although on the Z8 the feature where the phone bends, looks prety cool. I am not sure how well it will work . we will just gave to wait and see. I just recently swtiched from Verizon to T-mobile. couldnt be happier. I think the plans are better(espcially the texting plans) better selection of phones, and better service(my opinion) plus #1 ranked customer service, so nice and helpful to the awefully mean people with attitudes over at Verizon. i decided to go with the Samsung SGH-T629 (pic1,pic2) i enjoy it, but it could be better. i want to customize it more like the Motorola v710 i once had, which has been my favorite phone so far. Once the z3 comes out i plan on purchasing that.

    Verizon...THANK GOD!!!
Though I see a lot of doubt out of most of ya...I think it will happen; so Motorola can compete with the Chocolate. Though it may not be a Verizon phone. One company probably wont sell two similar phones made by two different companies. I can see maybe U.S. Cellular selling this, but you never know; Verizon may do it.
