VCAST TV Phone from Motorola is headed to Verizon later this year. Details in this link: FCC Site Reveals New V CAST TV Phone from Motorola (Phone Scoop)
Mobileprincess!!! You are making my choice HARD when my new every 2 is up in October!!! I thought I was going to get that Razr 2 phone but, with this in the mix, maybe not. Thank you so much for posting this info. I always come here first and then I hit phonescoop. You are a true Princess of information!!
Tell me about it!! With all these new phones coming out, it's getting even harder to just pick one out. I use to think that LG was the best brand that Verizon carried, but after seeing these two up coming Motorola phones, I'm beginning to have second thoughts.
Hopefully the software on these Motorola phones will be more stable than that of the E815 I would love to get a new phone when my contract is up, but I am not really all that excited for it, because whatever phone you get, you'll have the same interface, etc. so it's really not that special to me anymore.
I hated Verizon's UI when it first came out. But now that they have added the new "Flash UI" and a little more customization to some of the menu's on their new LG handsets, I find it to be a little more tolerable. The new RAZR2 and the RIZR Z6tv will have Verizon's new flash UI which should eliminate some of the menu lag that alot of the other standard UI phones have.
Agreed- I also really hated it when it came out, but like you said, it has improved. Still though, in the past I was always excited to go try out new devices like go from LG to Moto or whatever and try out the different interface...now that "excitement" is gone.
Andy, out of curiosity here, what is wrong with the software on the E815? I've had mine for over a year now and haven't had any problems with it. It's never had a software update either..... Maybe I just got a good one. The excitement of getting a new phone will never be gone for me...... I've got to stop this talk about new phones now. My enV is only a month old, so according to my new phone calender, I still have 2-3 months to go before I can get a new phone.
Hehe, every 3 to 4 months for a new phone, eh? I wish I were that lucky. I've gone through about 5 E815's, I currently own 2 of them, and on every one of them the phone resetts itself a few times a day while texting (I text a lot). Also, sometimes when you answer a call or try to use another function on the phone it freezes and resetts, happens 1 to 4 times per day to me depending on how lucky I am. The same thing happens to everyone I know who has an E815...I guess you did get lucky. Other than that problem, I love my E815; it probably is my favorite phone.
Did you ever have the software updated on any of them?....If the freezing and resetting itself were S/W related maybe having an update would resolve these issues.... I'm not sure, but I seem to recall there being 2 or 3 updates since the E815's release.... I've never bothered because of the old saying "If it ain't broken, don't fix it".
Oh I wish the software update would help anything- but it did not fix it...you'd think Verizon would get that under control. I'm glad you are not having that issue- if I didn't have that issue, I'd still be using the E815 as my primary phone.
Yea I used to have a E816 and i had the same problems but i still loved it I had it on ampd then they went out of biz and i got a black Lg VX8550 (chocolate) and i had it the first week it came out then i had 4 of them software problems then i just threw it till my wheel didnt work like i droped from a 3 story window with music playing and it still played after it hit the ground then i was on number 10 and i got a new ice blue chocolate then the heat button wouldnt work then i got a new one and in 3 days it wouldnt charge so i called verizon and treatened 2 cancel my contract and they sent me a new RizrZ6tv and I love it
While visiting the local verizon store on Saturday, one of the salesclerks informed us that the Motorola Rizr V6tv was being discontinued. Offered no reason as to why. Tried to sell us on the LG Chocolate (which is much too small); the Samsung Juke (which is also too small). Has anyone heard if this is actually the case? I was hoping to be able to get a Rizr when it was time for the ne2.
