Hey guys, my friend has a Motorola RIZR.
The only problem with it is that when you plug it into the wall outlet it sometimes displays the software version on the screen and says "OK to program. Plug into USB data cable."
I told her I would look at it, but it won't even power up, the only time it does anything is when I plug it into the wall charger, and that only happens sometimes. I tried plugging it into my computer and it didn't do anything that I could see, the only thing that happened was that the green battery light came on, I assume that means it's charging. After letting it sit connected to the computer a while to charge I tried powering it on and nothing happened still.

When I was trying all this I didn't have a sim card in it, should I try it with one?
I have both a T-Mobile and Cingular sim card, if that makes a difference.

She was using it for Cingular, and I'm pretty sure it is the T-Mobile version.

If I can get it to display the message on the screen I will add it to this to possibly narrow the problem down.

If you need to know anything else, just let me know. Otherwise any help would be greatly appreciated.

Was any modding attempted on this phone at any time? it sounds like someone tried to flash the phone and screwed up. I'm thinking maybe if you can get the phone up into bootloader mode you can reflash the phone's OS, but that's kinda complicated.

    I'm not sure, I don't think so.

The only thing changed was that it was unlocked.

Is there a website or something to help explain what you mentioned?

Okay, here is what it displays on the screen when I plug it into the wall charger.

    Exactly as it appears.

    Boot Loader
    0A.C0.
    SW VERSION:
    R452B_G_O8.92.
    08R
    PH SIG ERR:
    35:03:

    OK to program
    Connect USB
    Data Cable

Is that the Boot Loader you were talking about?
