Your best bet for Sprint phones with great reception would be the Sanyo 4900. Other phones that perform well are the Sanyo 6400, Sanyo 8100, Samsung A620, and the Samsung A600. If you do not use Vision at all, consider the Nokia 3585i as well.

The Hitachi P300 also is good but only single band. If this was a dual band I would probably give it a try as I really like it.

    Rightius,
There aren't many phones that are better than any other since they all use the same chip technology, (Motorola makes their own). There is one exception: Sanyo phones seem to be noticeably better on the Sprint PCS network.

Since they have the same CDMA chip as other phones, there must be other factors at work...possibly that a Sanyo phone will just sit there and keep trying to hold or find the signal a little longer.

A minor setback for Sanyos is that not many (if any) are capable of 800 MHz digital roaming. I hope newer models allow this, but if you don't expect much roaming time, the phone rises above all others in performance. Opinions in this group always include Sanyos at the top, and I've had 2 Sanyos and they have worked better than any other.

Both the Sanyo 8100 and the 5300 can digitally roam at 800 MHz. - sheureka
