Hopefully they will wait for at&t. funny, we almost know for sure that alltel will join in the text increase. Why can't Alltel follow the other carriers in prorated etfs? and 30 day trials? alltel really needs to get on board with these things or the "cavemen" from the commercials will start to turn on alltel!

It is already highway robbery at $0.15--especially for incoming which you have no control over. I wish they would make the text/message packages either per line or per account like they do with the free-to-roam minutes. I would pay the $5.99 per month to share 300 on the three lines I have. Right now they get no more than 20 or 30 cents from me each month.

I totally agree. The next time they raise the per message price, I'm going to remove text messaging from all of my lines, unless they offer a shared text package like free-to-roam.

My friend in eastern Carolina told me USCC has free incoming texts. Is that true? Alltel competes with USCC in quite a few markets.

The smartphone package works out pretty well for me. My dad runs his own business and needs a blackberry for e-mail, etc. I was paying ~$20 a month for the alltel U prepaid with texting and unlimited nights and weekends. effectively, with the smart choice plan under my dad (hey, I'm a poor college student) I pay $20 a month for unlimited nights and weekends, mobile to mobile, text pic and video messaging, and my circle access. Its not that bad a deal with the unlimited data either. if I had to face 20 cents a text message... I would quickly reconsider my options. 15 cents is bad enough

20 cents a message? Are you guys drunk? Lol.

In all seriousness I think that a lot of people would be pissed if they had to pay for text messages they didn't want.
