Congrats Gamer   now its time to take a good earned break Right now I'm going for my CCNA and A+ certifications. Hope I do good
oh no...CCNA!!! I took a 2 year networking class in high school that was meant to prepare me for the CCNA. Lets just say that I never took the test.
Thanks Gamer. Why not, its doesn't seem that hard so far, lol. I'm just having a little problem with subnetting. But overall I'm doing good so far, I think haha.
Hi Everyone, Its been a while since i've seen any of you folks, its nice to see some old "faces" anyway, Uhm hi. hehehhe Oh yeah I know what I accomplished! Back when the Motorola T720 was THE phone, and a lot of us used to hang out at the moto forum, i was bored one day and started a thread, "The Random Thread". It was an overnight success because we were all friends back then and it became a sort of a chatroom atmosphere while going off topic and sometimes it got pretty ugly, and due to its popularity (notoriety) This Forum "roaming zone" was created. I take full credit for the creation, development and success of what was once a simple thread and what is now a cool place to hang out (electronically). And thats one of my accomplishments. kthxbye - Cop
That's really funny... WA has changed so much over the years... I guess my big accomplishment is finishing my undergrad. I walk later today. It's hard to believe that four years flew by that fast...
I guess I will share a relatively recent accomplishment... I was recognized by the Armed Forces Communications Electronics Association (AFCEA) as the Distinguished Young AFCEAN Of The Year. A Young AFCEAN is defined as a member of the association under age 40. The award goes to the individual who provides Exceptional service to AFCEA at the local chapter and/or regional level. AFCEA International is a non-profit membership association serving the military, government, industry, and academia as an ethical forum for advancing professional knowledge and relationships in the fields of communications, IT, intelligence, and global security. There are over 19,000 members distributed throughout the world in 134 Chapters. Here is a short write up... Congratulations to Carey Bandler - 2008 Distinguished Young AFCEAN Oh, and more importantly...my Blackjack's radio has taken on a mind of it's own and I will be getting my BJ2 tomorrow. Yea, I get to learn a new device and transfer everything.
CONGRATULATIONS wirles. This sounds very impressive, thanks very much for sharing with us. Oh and more importantly...don't forget to tell us in detail about the Blackjack II
Wow this brings back a lot of memories! I had kind of forgotten about that over the years. Yes "The Random Thread" is what lead to the roaming zone. Up until that point WA was exclusively a wireless discussion forum.
My turn I am just finishing up a 2 year long $2.1m project - one of the biggest of my career. Just finished the final testing of a 10MW, 24.9/4.16 Kv substation, replacing the 40+ year old existing one. It was designed, all equipment, and installing specified by yours truly (Yes I am braggeing ) This substaion powers half our manufacturing facility. Here are some pictures: 1. Old substation outdoor & overhead structure. 2. Old substation. 4.16kv housing. 3. New substaion
1. One of the bays inside the 24.9 kv housing 2. The east bank of 4.16kv breakers 3. The west 5 Mw transformer.
Last but not the least, the entrance to the pulling pit. There was something real scary and ominous staring at "13" since 5:00 am this morning & hoping nothing goes wrong.
Congrats Charlyee and wirles... botgh of your works make my life seem pointless and ineffiient! Keep up the good work.
Congratulations Charlyee. This is a very impressive feat (certainly nothing that I could do). You should be very proud of yourself.
Congratulations to Wumpusva and wirles. It's interesting to learn more about the members beyond their favorite phones. This new thread is cool. SW
