Well, in the next few months (I don't know how long it takes), I should be appearing on the Street View map of my home area. I was outside with my dogs when the Navteq car drove by. (http://www.navigadget.com/wp-content/postimages/2008/10/navteq-4.jpg) I just checked, the street view has not yet been updated.
You won't be alone, I was caught twice at intersections in my neighborhood Thursday by Google (or Navteq). COtech
You two are among the few lucky persons to be featured in the Google map. Now, both of you would not be ageing for the next two years as Google updates its map every two years. I was hoping to be captured by Navteq car, but never got the chance.
Huh?! I made the original post on 8/31. Here it is 9 days later and the updated image still isn't showing. Maybe I was too ugly for them to use it. :crying: :googlyeye
Just found out it can take upto one year before the new images are ready for use on google maps. That seems absurd, given all the computing power and automation that exists today. I mean, the images are basically outdated by the time they are deployed. But all that is not relevant BECAUSE NavTeq is not Google! I made a major boo-boo by assuming it was. NavTek is a Chicago based firmed not related to Google... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Navteq
