I know there is a website the gives the information about local exchange information on the most of the area codes in the united states. I think it starts with foneinfo or something like that. anyone with this link please post it, it would be a great deal of help.
I don't know if these are exactly what you are looking for but I find them useful. NPA/NXX Query Area Code Maps
Here's a website that gives lots of information: http://www.quentinsagerconsulting.com/phonecodes.htm
And here's yet another one (mine ): http://npanxx.roamer1.org/ Mine's particularly good for wireless since I translate the "legal" names of the carriers into their more familiar names (Cingular alone has prefixes under ~30 or so different names.) -SC
Very nice Roamer1. I really like your website. It's nice to see the actual carriers name listed in that one instead of having to translate. Good Job! :thumb:
Very nice! The first one I've seen that translates BELLSOUTH PERSONAL COMMUNICATIONS, INC. properly into Cingular Wireless. It amazingly translates MOBILECOMM into Arch Wireless - that's correct too! You've even got the assignments in the brand new barely-in-use 704 overlay area code, 980. Since I know you can do this, set WAITSFIELD - FAYSTON TELEPHONE CO. to translate to Waitsfield Champlain Valley Telecom. Also, it may be a good idea for Rural Cellular Corp. to show their dba name as well, Unicel.
Script updated...pushing it over to the web server now. RCC does business as CellOne (still) in some markets, Cellular 2000 in others, and Unicel in yet others...I think I got which is which right. -SC
12-16 hours and ~400 lines of code (For anyone that's curious: the "telco translator" is a big sed script that substitutes carriers' "legal" names with their "well-known" names.) -SC
