02 - Not bad; they don't brand their handsets, which is rather nice. Vodafone - Generally good, but branded handsets are a bit of a bad show and they don't have much in the way of data bundles for ordinary customers.
verizon because it is the best here and in most places plus every on i kno is vzw. tried others dumped them before the 15 days ways up because the stunk
Well let's see. The following apply to my family: 1998-1999: Cellular One (TDMA) 1999-2001: AT&T TDMA 2001-2003: Cingular TDMA (our first no roaming no long distance plan) (we could go anywhere in the 50 states and make calls with this plan) 2004-2005: Sprint PCS (had to cancel them at the very beginning of 2005 due to coverage and dropped call issues) 2005 - ? : Verizon Wireless [we have two lines (soon to be with four with Verizon)] My personal carriers: 1st to 2nd quarter of 2005 to late August of 2005: Tracfone (Cingular GSM) September 2005 to early January of 2005: Cingular GSM (had to cancel them due to coverage issues and garbled calls) Mid January of 2005 to Mid March of 2005: Verizon Wireless (they were and still are excellent) Mid March of 2005 - ? : Sprint PCS (their coverage has vastly improved from when we had them from 2004 to early 2005) (I have a SERO plan with them )
I completly disagree with that...but this isn't a GSM vs. CDMA thread . Alltel is mine. But I've had Sprint, T-Mobile, Tracfone, Cennetenial (sp?). scotsboyuk- They brand all the phones over here, that's pretty cool that some don't over there....
Orange seem to have started the branding nonsense as far as I can remember, but at least O2 are holding out. I believe O2 don't lock their handsets either, which is rather decent of them. I'm not a big fan of networks tampering with a handset's firmware (let alone the hardware!). Vodafone insist on replacing perfectly good menu icons with their own nonsense. They also seem to think that it's a good idea to alter certain features. For example, my Vodafone branded W900 didn't support Flash menus. A quick unbrand later and I can now use Flash menus with the best of them! Huzzah! Strangely, I don't mind Orange's branding too much, perhaps because I generally have a fairly high opinion of Orange. They have good adverts, in fact their adverts are the only ones worth watching at the cinema before the trailers come on.
Alltel here. Happier with them than any other. But of course, they offer the best coverage and rates for me.
Same for me! I also have a Cingular GSM line just for kicks, and work pays for a Sprint data card and U.S. Cellular voice line.
Centennial- good coverage terrible customer service Verizon- good coverage excellent customer service(so far!) Verizon wins hands down!
Alltel. My favorite carrier to date!!!!! Before that Tracfone, Simple Freedom, ATT Wireless, NEAT and Cingular.
Cingular-very happy from home, work and most most populated areas of WI. Verizon-not happy from home at all but works very well in rural WI, mostly roams on USCC. Nextel (work)-excellent for work purpose only.
Current: Sprint SERO 1250 plan (personal line) Verizon (4th line on 4 line FS 3000 plan with family as of today for IN minutes to family and other customers)
