I want to create a list of WAP sites for people who want some places to go that are not the ones their phone service has already. I only have a few sites so far, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. My list so far: http://wap.yahoo.com/ --> Yahoo! for your WAP phone http://wap.spruce.jp/ --> J2ME/MIDL games and programs http://www.waptelnet.com/ --> A telnet client for you WAP phone http://midlet.org/wap/ --> A lot of J2ME/MIDL apps for your phone http://pda.accuwaether.com/ --> Weather for WAP 2.0 phones (ie. Sprint) http://wap.msn.com/ --> MSN/Hotmail
Here's a few more. http://wap.news.com http://m.cnn.com/en/pcs.ui/i.xml http://mobile.theonion.com http://dictionary.com/wml http://wap.hollywood.com http://wap.jams.to Also.. take a look here for more PCS-related stuff.

maciej, great service this sendmereminder.com. One question - once you send yourself a reminder do others get hold of your phone number? Did you start getting junk SMS? I'd like to start using it but I'm afraid of my phone becoming like my e-mail inbox - a huge garbage dump. Thanks for the site.
hey tango, sendmereminder.com is run by me. It's been in operation for a few years now, started as a hobby and grew from there. I use it all the time myself. It's pretty neat. I sometime forget it even exists until i get a little beep with a reminder I set up loooong time ago. The site/service is more of a side effect of wanting to test the the Reminder Server, the software behind the site - that's how it started, and kind of stayed that way. Your phone number is 100% safe. It will never be used by anybody other than yourself. I'd hate it myslef if my cell phone turned into spam-phone.
Hey guys -- thanks for all the cool sites !! Keep 'em coming. BTW - does Google have a WAP site? I use them all the time and would love to be able to search for things while I'm on the road, without firing up the laptop. Cheers, mates! /Chris
Oh ok. Do you or anyone else know a way to check you Hotmail. I use to be able to do it, but not anymore.
you can try mobile.msn.com but it didn't work for me. I got an internal error. Microsoft is supposed to fix hotmail to work with Wap 1.2 but not yet. It worked before but not now. The url was the same (www.hotmail.com). I also used www.wapmx.com but they say that it is not available and won't be back up until October 1, 2001 which never happened. I'll keep looking for a way to check. Let me know if you find anything.
Yeah, I use to use mobile.msn.com on my 8390, but when I try it on my S105 I can an 'Internal Error' too. Hey, do you have a messenger, preferrably MSN Messenger, where we can chat about this type of stuff. Please email it to me at aiwapro@msn.com.
More WAP sites: http://wap.afterdawn.com/ --> News http://ludiwap.co.uk/ --> Games http://yowars.yospace.com/ --> Game http://www.wapcelebs.com/ --> The WAP Inquirer http://www.phonekungfu.com/ --> Game http://wap.mviva.ngame.com/ --> Games http://wapomanic.com/ --> Games http://wap.pfft.net/ --> Humor http://thefunniest.com/ --> Humor http://wap.cartoonscape.com/ --> Cartoons http://www.frotz.net/phone.hdml --> Jargon Dictionary http://wap.gemal.dk/ --> Tells you about your phone's browser abilities http://wap.colorline.no/demos.html --> Shows some of the things that WML can do Enjoy!
I've set up a one-click Sprint Vision portal at http://www.trinitians.net/vision. It only works with browsers supporting WML2 (i.e. html pages) on the new Vision phones. I've tested with the Sanyo 4900; please let me know if it works for you!
For HotMail, mobile.msn.com worked. It's cool because you can set up an alert to text message your phone whenever you receive a new e-mail...
Hey veezer, Your portal rocks the house. What are the chances I could get a look at the code you used? I've been working on something similar, but nowhere near the quality of yours. ??
one click stop for vision is a huge help.........thanks, veezer............i've got a problem though.......in yahoo, when i try to "Sign In" i keep getting looped back to the username and password page...........i am certain that i am using the correct username and password, so what could the other problem be?? can anyone help??
Veezer - Your site is AWESOME. I like your portal better than Sprints. Since you asked to know how it's working I thought you would want to know the following (I'm using an LG5350). * - Yahoo will not pull up at all. I get an "Error: Incompatible Page" Apparently my phone's browser cannot display the page because it is incompatible. Not sure if this is your portal or my phone's problem. * - eBay will not pull up either, same error. Again, not sure if it's the portal or the phone. * - There is a typo on the bottom of your portal, you have 'MSN Mobible' - just an extra 'b' in there. Thanks again for a great portal.
Mr. Veezer thank-you very much for your portal. It is excellent and is now my default home page on my Sanyo 5300. Like others, however, I am frustrated by problems accessing Yahoo. In order to check my mail I have to go through Yahoo UK, which is OK up to a point since that is mostly what I do on Yahoo with my phone anyway. The other links give me UK news, weather, etc. It would be nice to have the same functionality I had with my 5150, especially after paying so much for this "advanced" phone. I gather from other posts in this forum that this is software problem which may or may not be intentional on Sprint's part. Either way, it is outrageous to upgrade your phone only to have less functionality than you had before. I plan to go to the local Sprint store soon to loudly complain about this. Thanks again for your portal.
Anyone able to access waptelnet.com through TMobile? I get this error message an internal gateway error prevents the gateway from fulfilling your request
I guess this is an ancient thread that has been revived. Here are a few I find useful: http://www.sabremobile.com/wasapi/docs/vt.jsp - Airline flight tracking system http://mobile.theregister.com/trm/wap - Information Technology news site with a UK perspective. http://mobile.cnn.com/xhtml/en/us/i.html - CNN
For Verizon, if you have a "Mobile Web" capable phone, most of these sites should work fine. How well any of these sites works for you depends more on your phone and how well the site was constructed, than your service provider. Your phone has to support at least WAP/WML. Most of the newer Internet capable phones also support XHTML. You can check phonescoop and look up its WAP/Web Browser capabilities, or check this Verizon page. Other service providers have other names for their Internet service/portals (Cingular's is called MediaNet).
