Hey, I work for LGE as a tech. I work on almost all the sprint and verizon models including V111,TM510,TP1100,TM5200,TM5250,LG5350,4ne1,LG1010. So, If there is anything I can do to help I do my best. Keep in mind though that I repair the HARDWARE of the phone. marc
My phone overheats and reboots when I try and do more than ten web pages. Is there a fix and do you get many like this? I called LG and they said it was a defective phone, but all of them do it.
Hey Marc, I also have the lg and cannot figure out how the Photo Album is suppose to work, please advise. Also, what is the best way/cable/software to connect the phone to a computer or PDA to browse the internet? There seems to be so many things folks are doing to connect. (I have the Futuredial cable but have not tried to use it cuz it seems like it will be so much to connecting.) Thanks.
If your phone is re-booting in the normal usage, it is a phone problem. If this happens only when you are browsing the web, this is the problem with the HTML/HDML site. Also if your service provider's network does not clear the cache constantly on their network, the phone memory will force the phone to reboot itself. (This is the only way phone can refresh the cache) Browsing the internet will drain the battery faster and that is why your phone gets hot very quickly.
Good question! My friend has a LG 5350, and she can't seem to put ANYTHING in the "Fun Tools" (menu item 7) photo section. When she downloads an image it goes to the screen savers section (menu item 5) in downloads. The manual she received with the phone is a joke, and even the PDF version on the LG site does not mention the "Fun Tools" section of the phone menus at all.
Alex is right, It is the PWR amp that is getting hot after long use of the phone (transmit/receive). marc
Hey, latetest manual: http://us.lgservice.com/bin/HPI/HpiHomeMain.cgi This is what I found in the manual: Using Your Phoneâ??s Fun Tools In addition to features designed to help make you more efficient and organized, your new PCS Phone also offers tools for your entertainment and amusement. Using the Photo Album The Photo Album will allow you to transfer pictures from your home or office PC to your phone using optional sync software which may be purchased separately. Once the pictures are transferred to your phone, you can use them to truly personalize your phone by using them as wallpaper during standby mode or as background when powering the phone on or off. This feature is not yet available for the 5350. Note: The optional Photo Album sync software is not yet available for purchase. When the software becomes available, your PCS Phone will support it. However, I have seen phones coming in (not many) that used the photo album. There must be software on the internet. I don't know for sure though. I hope this was of some help marc
Marc, I live on a boat so I move around a lot. But when I am in dock, I'm under this enormous metal roof and reception is not that good (one bar at best). Is there anyway to connect an external antenna to my LG5350 phone? I could put the antenna on top of the metal roof and a wire then coming in to the phone in the boat.
Hey LGTech, great to have you here! I am actually trying to do some development on my VX10 using the BREW Tools. (Don't know if you know anything about that). Anyway, I am using a USB cable along with some drivers from FutureDial, I believe. The cable and drivers are part of the Verizon Mobile Office Kit. I am trying to access the phone with the BREW AppLoader, yet am having problems detecting the phone, despite the fact that I can query the phone as a modem otherwise. Any ideas why it wouldn't be picked up by the BREW Tools?
Well I talked about it with a college, and in theory it should be possible. You might be able to find the right adapter and antenna. (I am thinking of car phones sets). Check there first. But I have to say to I have my doubts. I donâ??t think It would work. (I am guessing here) Good luck though. The external antennaâ??s that are advertised on TV do not work. (They are as fake as can be, including the wave scrambler) marc
This antenna amplifier really works. Don't ask me how but it does. I even took it to the office and several others have experienced improvement in their signals. I've been thinking about ordering ten of them to see if that would help any more. Clip-On Cellphone Antenna (3db gain) Passive signal repeater extends the range of your cell phone and improves signal quality without directly connecting to your phone Advanced tapered design; the antenna base is thicker for added strength but narrows at the top to reduce wind resistance noise Easy non-permanent installation; just open your window, clip this antenna on the edge of the window, then close the window Here is the link: http://www.factorydirectcellular.com/home/lge/lg-5350.htm
Hey Marc, I was using my friends 5350 yesterday, and she was showing me how the voice dialing works, and on the third try (first two worked fine), the phone rebooted itself. A tried it again and the phone rebooted afted four voice dials. It is about a month old, should she send it back? BTW, very nice phone, browses the Web (Vision) really fast and loads almost every Web site and EVERY wap site I tried.
Hey D1hamby, You had me worried for a sec there I checked out the link and yes I do not doubt that the Clip-On Cellphone Antenna that you are talking about is working. When I mentioned the external antenna I was talking about the sticker type that you put on the back of your battery. There is no working component in those. I see a lot of those ??stickers? coming in and there made out off plastics (including the antenna part). And are also called antenna booster. Sorry for not being clear on that. Marc
Word of warning, I ordered over $82.00 worth of cellphone accessories from Factory Direct Cellular and I never got what I ordered nor did I get a refund. I turned the matter over to the Federal Trade Commission. It's been almost a year now.
Maybe you could tell me if there are any plans in the works for the picture ID feature on the 4400? ...there are so many options not available YET ( such as anything in MY FOLDER)
Hey Schnugs, did you check out the link for factory direct? If you really want the good stuff though you should probably go to: http://www.altwireless.com/ They have all kinds of antennas, boosters and amplifiers. Let me know what you think.
The phone has the capability but the Verizon network is not capable of doing that yet. I believe one the company that is working with Verizon to get the caller picture ID working is "dot photo". Follow this link and you may find some interesting info regarding the caller ID pictures. http://www.dotphotoinfo.com/FAQs.html
Marc, I have some questions reguarding the internal workings of the TM510. If you have a moment please e-mail me as I dont know how often Ill be on this msg board. iceberg@techropolis.com Bryan
Hey LGtech, I spend a ton of time in the car. I have spent about three months researching how to connect my Laptop to my cellphone. It seems that los of people know how to connect but once they do so they leave the site and take the info with them. I am a sprint PCs customer and all I want to do is connect to the net. I am not trying to download files or ringers or anything, just email and im capabilities. I have been told that I need to get a usb data cable which seem to be NOWHERE in the world right now. I have tried just about every online store. Even the people on here with the data cable cannot connect, or at least the ones that can do not come forth. I have an LG 5350 but try and save the 10 bucks a month on visions because I think its crap. I mean it seems cool for kids who like to send pictures and have their phones sound different, but compared to a laptop you can't do anything on a little phone, there is no argument there. I am about to give up on this whole thing because sprint doesn't want you to do it so they have basically made it impossible. I am also thinking about leaving sprint and getting a new phone and provider that are more laptop friendly. Any ideas????
Hi I need ur help I am using the LG950W and 900W model hand sets . I have a problem . I am able to make an out going call from the set but the incomming call tone is not heard or the phone dosent get connected . I have checket the ringer its fine . At the base station I hear a ring back tone for a max of 2 rings and gets disconnected . V111 and LG 800W mode;l sets are not having any such problems to say its the base station configuration problem . The NAM programing eventhoug over written at the hand set shows some other number on the main base station monitoring screen at times . Is it that i have to reload the entire NV_ file or what exactly is the parameter i need to change either at the hand set NVprogram or base station setting for my phone to Ring . I have a software programming tool and data cable of LG 900w model . But unfortunately while installing the setup program this is asking for password which I do not have . How do I come out of this situation kindly help
HOW DO U BECOME A TECH FOR LG? I'M TECH FOR NOKIA. I WANT TO START OFF MY OWN BUSINESS DOING RETAIL ANY IDEA WHERE TO PURCHASE PARTS? EMAIL IS KOUEIS@HOTMAIL.COM THANKS
Marc - What is this about a vcard with the VX4400 and is there anyway, I can use Apple's isync with the VX4400? Thanks, Jamie
I'm hoping someone is working on calendar sync for the LG 4400 (I use outlook). Several vendors seem to be working on contacts sync for the 4400 but calendar is very important for me and someone said this may not even be possible. Can you tell me if this is even possible? Is there an API to update the calendar or will there be? If you know of anyone actually working on this i'll feel much better about keeping this phone. It's a great phone and I can wait a little while for this feature if I know its coming. Thanks!!
Marc, there is a definate problem with the 4400's ring speaker. Please make sure the next update turns down the pre-amp.
Okay, this has me confused. How can a passive system get more power out than is put in? I have more than a few credits in physics and engineering and one of the basics is that you can't create energy out of thin air.
There are some external antennas that will help. they are powered antennas. Call your provider's tech support directly for detailed info.
LGTech - It would be great if you could convince LG to post the firmware updates for their phones on their website. I purchased the LG5350 back in September because I was told it could sync with Outlook. I realize the issue may be that Sprint is not distributing the update but since you designed the phone, and most likely created the software update, it would be really nice if I could download the update from you and bypass the techs at Sprint. Thanks for you participation in this forum
I own 2 lg 5350's and was wondering how do I check the field strength, and also what type of sync cable do I need to upload pics from my home PC to the phones? Email is acunn1@comcast.net
