Only out west, in the North East they don't need a plan that good.

Wouldn't that kind of plan be nice for us NE-ers though? ;) I would love a grand of minutes for $39.99. Do westerners use their phones more, or why does VW offer better plans out west? More competition?? *scratches head*

BREW (Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless) is a solution developed by Qualcomm for downloading small applications and content to mobile phones. Found almost exclusively in CDMA phones.

The primary component lets users download and run small software applications on wireless devices, including phones. Such applications might include games, expense tracking software, or interactive map tools. This component of BREW competes with J2ME, a Java technology from Sun Microsystems. BREW and Java are generally not compatible.

The BREW subsystem on a phone can also manage graphics and ringtones.

The BREW solution also includes a server component which resides on the network. The BREW server manages the network side of BREW downloads, including billing, and can also serve and bill for non-BREW applications and content.

    Hope that helps... ;)

1.) They never released that plan here in NYC.

2.) The NYC Verizon stores in NYC get more business than any of the other providers stores.

3.) My EC NEVER drops below..6 at home and 8 in Manhatan.

In NYC they are growing very fast and are almost not keeping up with the capacity demand. So, why would they need a more atractive plan? They do that and the Network will be MASSIVELY oversold.

Hey Tony E, will you get the VX-7000, the Motorola v710 or neither and wait for the VX-8000? I'm pretty sure you'll be getting at least one of those.

Hey Corey, long time no see, how's Hofo treating you? i see you in the Sanyo forum when i snoop around Hofo once in a while, good to see around here again...

and you're right, i'll be getting one of those, i think i want to give the much anticipated v710 a shot this time, if it doesn't work out i'll probably go with the 7k and wait for the 8k, but knowing me i'll probably try all three,
but seriously i have to try the v710, as much as i/we (in the Moto forum) have been waiting on it i have to see if it was worth the wait, what about you?

So what, exactly, are you all looking for in a phone? I upgraded from a basic Nokia years ago for a Motorola 'cause it was a cute little flip phone, then upgraded from that to the VX-6000 'cause it had a color monitor. Now I'm happy. What benefit do you get from roaming from phone to phone, from company to company?
