Just spoke to AT&T (local corporate store). They showed me a demo-unit V20 and told me the release date is October 28. (I had actually gone in to see if they had any Note5 units available. Nope.)
Less than two weeks away! And they say the pre-orders will ship between 24-27. Are you pretty much set on the V20 now or are you going to feel it out first?
They allowed me to use it briefly. The IPS LCD is not as vibrant as the AMOLED screens, but it is still a very nice display. If it comes in at $700 (as predicted by news outlets), it will still be less expensive than the S7-Edge. The $100 rebate from Samsung IF I buy a Samsung phone might make the S7-Edge be a price competitor. I'm still waiting to see the selling price of the V20. At this point, I'll go for the least expensive of the 2.
Well, you should definitely wait till the V20 is released, just in case that was an error on AT&T part. It's less than two weeks away...
Or nab your self an LG G Pad if you buy unlocked: http://www.gsmarena.com/deal_buy_lg_v20_and_get_7inch_lg_g_pad_tablet_for_free-blog-21139.php
I actually considered keeping the S7 only until the V20 arrives, but then I remembered just how much I hate the hassle of having to setup another new device. 5 devices in two months is just TOO much. I installed MyScript Beta that allows scripted notes in all text screens (including text messages). The ONLY downside is that with the Note I could switch between keyboard typing and scripted input easily. On any device other than a Note, you have to keep switching between input apps. That is a real hassle.
Kevin I think you made mention that you have like 200 applications, is that correct? Maybe if you go through all your apps and cut those down a bit it won't be such a hassle setting a new phone up. Just a thought.
@palandri: I do use them all, just not on a daily basis. And to be truthful, I have gone through it and pruned it down.
If they detect a more than passing interest from their customers wanting to jump carriers because of that, they will.
