ok, so thanks to the geniuses here, i've figured out how to load free ringtones onto my rhythm...but i can't seem to figure out the music part. can anyone help me? i have a micro sd card and my usb cable, but do i need a micro sd reader to load it?
It might not be needed but it would make it easier. What happens when you hook up the phone? Maybe you can use Bitpim to transfer the files?
MR O i used bitpim for my ringtones. it worked so great! i can use it for music transfers, but it would take FOREVER! so i was hoping maybe there was a way around buying a micro sd reader
It sounds like the handset was built with USB 1.1, with a speed of 12 Mbps. Using USB 2.0 you could go 40 times faster, 480 Mbps, with an external card reader/writer. You may get that speed on reading off the SD chip. Writing into the SD chip takes longer, slowing the transfer. I think I've seen high speed write SD memory chips with a 9 MBps spec (72 Mbps). Or you could become more patient, allowing time for MP3s to download and the LG to charge while attached via USB to your host PC. Since it already works with Bitpim, you know which folder in the memory chip to copy to, should you use an external card reader.. COtech
I've tried the instructions all over with bitpim, but "filesystem" never shows up... how'd you do it?
To get the file system folder to show on Bitpim you have to go to view (at the top of the window between Data and Debug )then click view file system... =)
new problem with the Rhythm...does anyone else have this issue? randomly, my phone will pop a message up saying "program success! phone will be restarting" i'm assuming it's just an update from alltel, but i'm not sure. thoughts?
