I bought a data transfer cable from ebay and it came with the drivers for the phone which i have installed correctly. However i dont have any means of data transfer to sync between my phone and computer. Does anyone know where i can obtain this type of software ie downloads, etc. Thanks
You know, to tell you the truth buying cables off of ebay for cdma phones is iffy. Alot of times verizon will block features such as music transfers via data cable. This helps them promote their vcast service and what not. So alot of times you end up buying a data cable that fits, but you end up having to wait for a compatible third party program to come around. What exactly are you trying to get from your comp? If its just music files and what now I'd recommend going hereLink . I'm sure theres other places around the net but I've been treated pretty well by them and they get my cards pretty fast. But yea just get a card reader and you'll be able to drag and drop. If you need to sync your phone you can use mobile action, which is a really good program to use because they do have great customer service. If you're curious as to the features its shown here..(http://www.accessorygeeks.com/lg-vx8600-date-suite-8072.html) once again feel free to search other sites. But let me know if any of this helped you out or not. I might be able to point you in the direction of some third party software if you really need it... Cheers.
well my service provider is alltel. and i want to sync with my computer to access outlook email, contacts, videos, pics, etc. I am guessing that there is software out there for verizon since they have had their version the vx8600 out longer than the alltel version ax8600. Does this work with alltel? i didn't try it so i don't know. thanks again.
To tell you the truth..in a perfect world I would say yes because they're both cdma services...but each carrier is different and they have so many weird ways that they can block certain features and what not. If you have an alltel I would just wait around to see if anything that has actually been tested to work on the alltel to come out. Have you tried howard forums?
Did you buy the memory card for your phone? I've been loading the music onto my phone from my computer using a card reader. I had tried to use a cable (Circuit City told me the 8600 cable for the Vcast - Verizon would work for the Alltel Ax8600 - I took it back and told them it doesn't recognize the phone) but found the card reader worked best for me. You may want to give that a try. I'm pretty new to loading stuff onto my phone and this only took me a couple of tries and works perfectly.
