I switched to T-Mobile in June of this year and was attracted to the rate plans and the phone slection. I have no complaints about coverage or call qaulity. My problems were voicemail related. I travel heavily outside my home market and T-Mobile just could not get it right with my vm. Most of the time when out of my home market callers just heard a ring, no VM at all. So I am switching to Verizon and the Moto T720. I will end up paying more, however, those I spoke with that use verizon tell me its bullet proof, for the most part. I can tolerate the occasional late message delivery or glitch, but not every time I travel. I am even paying the $200 cancel fee - thats how bad it is.
Come join the dark side...... I also travel extensively -- we're talking week after week of traveling for months at a time to different cities and I haven't had any voicemail problems nor complaints from people trying to call me.
Verizon Wireless is a good choice however I would recommend against buying the Motorola T720. I've heard a lot of people complain about that phone. Consider another phone if you switch to Verizon Wireless.
Verizon is an exelent choice but don't expect voice mail alert while traveling, at least in Michigan. Voice mail works but you are not alerted when you have a message while roaming.
I assume you raised hell with T-Mobile's customer service/tech support?? This sounds like a very unusual problem - I've never had a problem with my VM nor ever heard of anyone else having problems, regardless of what provider they use. It's hard for me to believe that this situation couldn't be easily fixed by T-Mo.
i did raise hell with customer service and they tried and treid but could not make it work. they suggested that i try a nw sim card and number. well, if i have to go to all the trouble of getting a new number i will just switch providers. I may complain to the OPUC to get my $200 cancel fee back.
How can you file a complaint, if they did make an effort to fix the problem, and you aren't going along with their suggestions. I have never had any problems with T-Mobile Voicemail, nor have I heard anyone else have any problems with their T-Mobile voicemail. T-Mobile did change their voicemail system, but it didn't take long, and in my area they have all of the kinks worked out, and it works just as great as it did before. The only thing I don't like about the new system, is that when I receive the message that I normally receive when someone leaves a voicemail, it no longer says who left the message (phone number), it only says you have a message. I have gotten over it though.
I had the same problem when i was with T-mobile. Whenever i would leave my home market. not even my home area. Everytime.. I would go to visit friend or family. My VM would not work. I would call and they would fill this ticket out or call for tech support. It never got fixed. I ended up getting like 600 bucks in totally for credits on my acct. T-moblie is by far the worst company when it comes to knowleage of what they do. The reps are by far the worst out of all cell companies.. Sprint would be a close second but atleast they know what there doing but you have to hold for 30 mins. Verizon is a GREAT choice.. Super cust care, everyone seems to know whats going on when ya call. You should have told t-mobile you died, or moved out side of there coverage area they would have taken off the 200 dollar charge.. Other then that i can tell you there collections department is not very nice and will not work with you on wanting there $200 bucks. Good luck.. But be glad that your with a great cell phone company now.
I'm fed up with this crap. Why must people make up sh*t about T-Mobile, just because someone else had a problem. At first you say your vm didn't work when you went out of your home area, then you say it didn't work when you went to visit a friend. What are you saying, that it didn't work outside your house, which has absolutely nothing to do with your phone, make up your mind. Also, T-Mobile didn't give you $600. Quit making up sh*t. If you were having so many problems, then why would you stick around for for so many months maybe a year later; That's what the credits add up to be, possibly more than a year, depending on your rate plan, and their rate plans aren't that expensive, soooo, I think you're lieing. Man, why must everyone make up sh*t about T-Mobile that isn't true, just shut up.

Man, why must everyone make up sh*t about T-Mobile that isn't true, just shut up.[/quote] B/ to be honset t-mobile is Sh*t. And i know i was with them for a year and half. Second i do have around $900 total credits on my acct. I KNOW I DO. i have seen them. Some of those are phone equitment credits. Second of all you have to stay with them when they got you stuck in the contract. And anytime i left KANSAS CITY, KS. MY VOICE MAIL WOULD NOT WORK.. It would play ramdom messages such as my phone is out of service or i'm out of my coveage area. but as soon as i got back to Kansas city, ks it would start working. I will give t-mobile one thing they do have great min plans if you want to talk more in the day. Aside from that. Half of their employees hate them. I know alot of them seeing as how there is a call center here in wichtia, KS where i now live.. (just so you know i moved from Kansas City to here. So i did have that problem b4) T-mobile cust care for the most part is Sh*t too. Half the people who work for them are under trained and just below average in genreal. (not saying you are.. I have talked to a couple who knew what was going on and did know there stuff but for the most part they su*ked) I don't like to call for cust care and know more then the people who are helping me ok? Its pretty bad when i can tell they are lieing to me.. And when i call them on it they change there story. AGAIN T-MOBILE IS SH*T..
You said you were with T-Mobile for a year and a half. Their contracts are only a year, so if you were having such terrible problems, why did you stay the extra 6 months, huh, huh, hmmm, sounds like what you are saying is getting more and more unbeieveable. Maybe it's just the customer service reps in your area are sh*t. You ever think about that, maybe you friends that you know are sh*t. Since they are the closes to you, that's usually who you'll be talking to. I have been with T-Mobile for almost 2 years, and I have never ever had any problems with Customer Care.
Yes it might be my area.. Yes it also might be nation wide and from what i hear it is.. ANd the reason i was with them for a Year and half.. Is i got out of my contract b/ i moved out of coverage hence how i know how to get out of the contract without paying EFT of 200 bucks.. And oh yes its all real. Look on the forum theres alot of people who hate t-mobile. And some of my friends are sh*t too.. i'm not going to lie and i know lots of people who work for them.. i mean hell its like you guys will hire almost anyone.. AND I MEAN ALMOST ANYONE.. Theres test for pre employement must be like.. OK Can ya read? and talk getto on the phone? ANd are you voted most liklky to be loser in your HS class? Did ya even pass High School? YOUR HIRED. THere all stupid.. ALL OF THEM.. I'm glad you found a cell compnay that you like.. POWER TO YOU.. And i might like to add T-Mobile has some of the hightest compaints records.. They are acutally rated one of the worst cell phone companies in america.. Aside from sprint. And if you need the link for that info let me know... heres a little what the wall street Journal said about T-mobile T-Mobile T-Mobile is in the midst of a massive makeover. In recent months, the company changed its name and launched an ad campaign featuring Ms. Zeta Jones. The company has a history worth hiding. T-Mobile, a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, is known for having a weak national network, and the FCC received 1,466 complaints about the company in the past year, giving it one of the worst complaint rates in the industry. T-Mobile says their complaint rate has tapered off and that they have made substantial network improvements. But T-Mobile is the cheapest wireless provider, available, with an average cost of just 8.2 cents per minute. Text and heres the link for ya too http://stacks.msnbc.com/news/816517.asp they arent good. THERE BAD
I don't care what the Wall Street Journal says. Most of those complaints come from petty crap, "oh I don't know my phone number," I must file a complaint. BS. Those complaints don't mean sh*t. Customer Care isn't bad everywhere, because like I said, I have been with them for almost 2 years and counting, and I haven't had NOT ONE (1) problem with their Customer service.
Not everyone experiences the same level of customer care. Just because your's have been exceptional doesnt mean it hasnt been a nightmare to someone else
Well, I've had MANY petty problems with T-Mobile. My contract was finally up, and I went to AT&T (GSM). I think I'm gonna go RUNNING back to T-Mobile because I picked at them on purpose, but they always treated me right. And they always managed to resolve known issues. Now I don't know what the everyone's problem with T-Mobile is, but they are good in Chicago. The service quality DOES depend on your hardware, so check the type of phone you have. I miss T-Mobile, and the only main reason I switched was to take advantage of AT&T's unlimited plan...
Not saying T-Mobile is a bad company. I'm just saying they have a lot of issues. From personal experince. And stories i have heard from others.. Also ones from employees of the company. They as i understand are trying to work alot fo them out with there new NAME. Trying ot forget the past and trying to scr*w customers less these days. But that all takes time. But as a stand point from where i stand it was too little to late. Yes they always did compensate me for my problems but they never fixed the problems. and when the did the resolution time was a little to long for my standards. All in all if you want the extra mins and you can deal with them. GO FOR IT.... If your like me and willing to pay a little extra for quality and get it. Go with someone else.
I get cheap rates with T-Mobile, and I would put my T-Mobile service up againt anyone elses, anytime, and I know I would win.
Hmmm, interesting. I love how when one person has a bad experience with something, then naturally that thing is the worst in the whole world. great logic. T Mobile won J.D. Power's award for best wireless provider in MN this year for the 3rd year straight. As a T-Mo customer who used to use Sprint PCS, I can see why.
Funny. JD power awarded the best in cust care to Verizon in the KS/MO market. You want to put your T-mobile phone up against my Verizon. BRING IT... Larger coverage, Largest nation wide network, better cust care, shorter hold times while calling cust care. Very competive rates when it comes to rate plans. Plus the add advantage of larger network. I think T-mobile network is about 35% the size of Verizon's. Hmm GSM is not widely used in the US. JD power has also given verizon a number of a awards. Again i will quote the wall street journal... T-Mobile T-Mobile is in the midst of a massive makeover. In recent months, the company changed its name and launched an ad campaign featuring Ms. Zeta Jones. The company has a history worth hiding. Verizon Wireless: You pay for what you get. At 14.3 cents a minute, Verizon is the most expensive wireless carrier. But it also has the strongest nationwide network, a lower complaint rate and the strongest customer service of anyone in our tests. E-mails we sent to the company were answered in less than half an hour, and helpful customer service reps came on the phone in less than a minute. (Compare that with a 15-minute wait at Sprint.) There were some flaws, including a charge for receiving text messages, whether you read them or not. I'm not saying that Verizon is the best thing since sliced bread. But they are better then t-mobile. THere not a bad company.. But there service is bad and cust care needs work and better training. After Deutsche Telekom gives them some more money. They might be able to better pay and better train there reps. I do know they are doing a lot of changes as of right now. Company wide changes. But as to what they all are i do not know. I will give t-mobile one thing. If you dont' use your phone alot at night. There more anytime mins is good plan and a very attractive offer. But no nights just weekends is how they get you there.
Yep, I'll put up my T-Mobile phone against anything anyday. I don't run into holes in coverage at all. My service is great. I have no complaints. Also, MY CUSTOMER CARE HOLDTIMES OR BETWEEN 2-3 "F"ING SECONDS, AND THAT'S ONLY WHILE THE CALL IN TRANSFERRING. BEAT THAT, COME BEAT IT!! I don't care what those stupid articles say, those are written by people who have no experience in wireless technology whatsoever, so what they say doens't matter.
Wait! Before you pay that fee, I might be interested in taking your phone and service from you! I have, and will keep Verizon, but I'd like another cell line and that'd work for me. Email me. Address is Jason5636@NOSPAMhotmail.com (Remove "NOSPAM" from address).
Good lord, get over it, it's a wireless company! (Aiwapro please bring your phone to my house, I need a paperweight )
I don't know why, but there's something about Verizon that just seems really boring. Oh well, you're happy with your service, and I'm happy with mine - that's all that matters. The more competition the better.
Hold times less then a min for verizon too.. I got news flash for ya. I have been with both companies you have not. So how would you know? But that aside merry x-mas and i hope you have a good one.
Who cares how long is the wait when you call CS, why do you call them in the first place?. Phone service is on is it not. Don't you have anything better to do then drive around looking for cell towers, dead spots in coverage in the next state, etc. People get a life cell phones are just that cell phones, another tool to be productive with. Like all man made things they work most of the time. How many of you drive around talking about IMPORTENT issues, i.e life and death, probably none of us, so the call gets dropped once in a while, big deal
Good point? Why are you here? And i talk about important things on my phone.. They may not be important to you or to anyone else. But let me ask you this. Your loved one was on that doomed flight on 9/11 a year ago. Its the last time you will talk to that person EVER. I sure as hell hope that you can hear them and the call won't drop. Or your calling for help b/ you stuck out in BFE. You see accident and someones hurt. People make important phone calls EVERY DAY dude. Where the Hell have you been? And if you work at all and have a busy life like most of us do i would sure not want to be on hold for 30 mins with what little time i have. And you call them in the first place b/ you have a problem and there are their to fix and/or help you with. And who said i drive around looking for dead spots. Most of us just are doing are normal lifes and happen to run in these spots. And like verizon acutally wants its customer to call in to CS and report these so we can make importments on are network. So when you know what your talking about why don't ya come back and chat with us. And as far as i am cocerned. Every call is important to the person making it. Or atleast should be assumed to be b/ you have no idea what it might be about.
