i can sometimes get to http://tagtag.com/flexia, but when i do there seems to be no way to add it to my favorites.. only soft buttons available are LINK, and BACK. if i hold 0 and go to mark site, it says the website has moved (developer.openwave.com)..
    any clues???

    Thanks for all your help!

That happens to me also with that IP. I used to just use the default homepage when I would use that one.

If you look at my post earlier in my thread I give a quick overview of my experiences.

When I use the IP below I can change my homepage.

    67.81.10.155
    port 9201

    Hi All,

Well to make a long story short, I read this thread yesterday, and was anxious to try the free WAP you all were talking about. I paid special attention to the one that said it would be a good idea to write down the old settings just in case the new settings didn't work. BUT...I started messing around in the setup before I actually figured out how to navigate the menus. This lack of knowledge resulted in my clearing my WAP settings before I had written them down. That was my first mistake. I tried a couple of the settings that were listed, but they didn't work. Uhhh...did I mention I have a VX4500??? Well, that was my second mistake. I didn't read ALL the posts I should have read, especially the one that says the 4500 will not work with the free settings. So, what I need if anyone can help, are the settings for Verizon's WAP/IP, and maybe the port, (I am not sure the port was different than the one I entered). Can anyone here help me? Or do I need to ask this in one of the regional forums?

Is the reason that the free WAP's won't work due to the LXL Port setting? That is what I found on the MobileWeb4U website. I guess there is absolutely no way around this.

    Thanks,
    Jim

I got my VX4500 to work by using the info from this thread.

    www.howardforums.com/archive/topic/322008-1.html

The software is only a 30 day trial. I am behind a firewall, and I just had to forward port 9201 to the server (WIN98) that is running the Now.Wap software.

my phone keeps saying Internet Service is not Enabled after I go in to the browser. Is there some way that I tell the phone to use the new IP/port that I enetered?

How free is this too, I gather from previous posts that it is only minutes used.

Those are the two IPs that have been working for me since February. The second one lets me change the homepage but with the first one I have to use the default openwave homepage.

ok, we never had so many problems setting free wap when the 6k first came out, are you gentlemen sure that after you change your IP and Port numbers to one that's working you are also changing your homepage (also to one tha's working) and proxy?

    James,

If you have a 5550, then you must be on US Cellular, like I am. The lock code gets changed when the PRL update is done on the phone. The only way to get the lock code is to get it from a US Cellular rep. If you send me a message, I could probably look it up for you.
