I don't know anything about how credit and credit scores work, so I apologize if this question is noob-ish.

So I made a late payment by phone and I was 1 day late.

Does that mess with my credit score?

No it wouldn't..... If At&t had to turn a delinquent account into collections for non-payment, that could mess up a persons credit score.
Besides most carriers do offer a 5 day grace period for payments anyway.

A late payment will only show up on your credit score if it's so late that you've been suspended & cancelled for non-payment and it's written off to a collection agency... 1 day, they don't even blink an eye.

No but they do start having an auto dialer dial your phone every 5 minutes for a payment reminder.

Yeah you we get autodialer calls once every few days or so if it goes too far past due.

In my experience, it's the day after the bill is due, the autodialers happen, and they don't stop, whether you talk to a cs rep or not. AT&T/Cingular's collection policies are actually why I've thought about changing to another carrier.

Bah, I have an ERP, which I can get fired for not paying, and I never get collection calls and I'm usually always late.

Supposedly paying on time does not help credit, but not paying will hurt your credit.
