Hello how are you all? Well the time has come in my life that I want to get something done with my eyes. You know I dont wear contacts or glasses but I have in the past. I can see what I need to for driving but other than that I need to do something about it. I have really been thinking about laser eye surgery. I know there are risks but isnt there risks with everything else. I want to know has anyone here done this or in the same boat I am. I am trying to get a support base going here as well as information on what I could expect. Thanks again. :nono:
Neighbor had it done. Turns out she was incorrectly diagnosed as a candidate for the surgery. She had dizzy spells and headaches for a few months until she saw another doctor who corrected the problem. Two coworkers had it done, no problem. Make sure the doctor is certified, etc.
I would love to have this done as well. Just haven't made it a priority. One of these days. My aunt had it done several years ago. Best thing she ever did according to her. I think one of my Uncles had it done too. I never see him with glasses anymore and I know he doesn't wear contacts.
I say go for it. I've done my research, and would be a perfect candidate, cept for one minor snag... I haven't been able to maintain the same prescription for more than 6 months for the past 12 years.... I have no idea what it was like to see w/out glasses now... my vision is WORSE than 20/400 (Which means I can't see the Big E) ~*Ash*~
I have heard that if you wear contacts you have to wait 6 months because your eyes conform to the contact?
I had it done last September. It worked wonderfully. Do your research and talk to people you know had it done. My vision is now 20/10 in both eyes, and my night vision is even better than before. Best money I've ever spent.
I want to have eye surgery done eventually as well. I wear contact and my sight is horrible. I am blind without them. My uncle had laser done years ago and he has been telling me to get it done for years. Maybe at some point in the future I will have it done. If you do it, Ryan, you can refer me to your doctor if he does a good job.
My only concern is we don't have any idea how your eyes will react in older age. It may be me over thinking the situation but I am paranoid about my eyes as I only have two and no spares. I think I will wait a while before looking into getting it done.
Lol, you are right. Eyes are something not easily replaced if something goes wrong and that is why I have been hesitant as well. The technology has gotten so much better, though, I don't think there is much of a danger.
Well you know honestly if something does go wrong my social security will pay for it when I am older. Oh wait there will be nothing left.
I am not really sure what you're saying here... but I've been wearing contacts since I was 13, and have never had a problem with them. You have to be fitted for contacts, and a good contact will make you feel as if nothing is in your eye. ~*Ash*~
Ash- Sorry what I guess I am trying to say is that i "heard" that contacts can actualy change the shape of your eye slightly. So in order for it to get its shape back you have to not wear them for a period of time. If I am wrong someone please correct me.
Wirelessly posted (Walkguru's: Opera/8.01 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/3.1.7196/1704; en; U; ssr)) my friend had it done one at a time. worked great. no more glasses for him.
