If you're a new customer signing with Verizon, you'll have to have some sort of contract. One or two year. So I'm not sure on that question. If you mean being already a customer and just activating a phone without a new contract or years added onto your current contract, then yes, that doesn't count and whenever the Slider came out you should be able to get it. Saying, for example, that my contract was over in October and that's when I was eligible to upgrade and I got a new phone either at retail price or from the outside. Once I had that phone activated, my eligibility for a new phone at a discounted price would still be October.
actually i signed up 15 days ago as a new customer and brought in my own equipment to have activated. My wife wants my v60i that i activated so i need a phone rep told me i could still get the new customer discount on a phone since i never recieved one, but i want the slyder possibly if i like it....was just making sure i could do this wondering if any one had a similar experience
Yeah, you'll have no problems with this. They'll be able to see you brought your own equipment, and offer you a discount on equipment at anytime, so if/when the slider comes out, you'll get it at contract price.
Wow... the people at Motorola are doing everything with the V60! One with a taser gun, one with a swiss army knife, one with a PTT, one with a color screen, what's next? Maybe one for phone calls?
That is assuming Verizon will carry the Slider......nothing definate yet.[/quote] I work at Circuit City and i talked to the Kyocera rep, It's coming out around January! Peace, Justin
I don't see the slide being any more of a potential problem than a flip. Moving parts always have the potential for mechanical problems, but if you're carefull and treat it right, it should be fine.
There's going to be an exclusive grand opening for the phone in NYC soon, maybe you can sneak in and try one out .
There's a contest you can enter (I entered) but I highly doubt any of us will win, obviously. But if you win take me!!! (sliderstyle.com).
I can understand it being somewhat like a flip, the mechanics of it at least...but I feel like I would end up breaking the friggin thing. I guess if I was to treat it right.*yeah right*
I've heard some are water resistant, but, not quite water proof. Even Nextel's "built to military standards" phones aren't water proof
I JUST GOT A BLUE SE47 FROM MY REP UNLOCKED FOR VERIZON WIRLESS THIS PHONE IS PRETTY NICE BUT I WOULD NOT TRADE MY VX6000 FOR IT BECAUSE IT HAS NO CAMERA...BUT DOES HAVE A SPK. PHONE ON IT WHICH IS PRETTY GOOD, AS FOR THE PHONE THE MENU IS VERY EASY TO USE...I'LL POST PIX ASAP SO U GUY CAN CHECK IT OUT I TRING TO GET MORE BUTT MY REP JUST SAID JUST WAIT FOR VERIZON TO SELL IT....
Did your rep happen to mention if the blasted thing is going to be released on Verizon? And when? Or is that the release? Reps with unlocked phones jimmied to work on Verizon. As you might be able to tell....I am NOT a very good waiter.
Finally found a display model of the slider....very nice. If Verizon picks it up, and it has decent RF it will be my next phone.
Our local area test man for Verizon brought them in to the store to show us the Slider. He said it's a great phone, odds of us getting it? Pretty good. He said March at the latest. It's in the testing phases for this network right now.
Good news Beat....but question. Did you not clunk him over the head and liberate these sliders from him?
