I'm looking for any reviews on this phone. I have a friend who is going to be switching to Verizon and is looking for a basic phone that gets good reception and good sound quality. Thanks for the input.
I got to play with this phone for a few minutes today. I only placed one call on it, but sound quality and reception seemed good. I like the feel of the phone, it feels solid. The color display is also pretty decent on it. It hasn't been out long enough to determine if there are any issues with the phone, but at this point, I would recommend it.
Thanks Ceno. The fact that it is a brand new phone would be my one reason to hesitate to recommend it since there are usually some kinks to work out. But overall it seems like it should be a perfect phone for someone not looking for all the bells and whitsles (even this one has some). Thanks again.
Hey, its a Kyocera... have they ever made a bad phone for Verizon? (Not including the 7135, although some love it some hate it.)
I have heard of ringer issues with this phone. It seems the ringer will ring differently than what it is set on in the menu. Have any of you experienced this?
I have had my KX414 about a week now and I did notice this. When I called the Verizon store the tech told me that they hadn't had any problem? He says it might be in some of the files within the phone and if I would bring it back in they would check it out. I haven't had time to take it back but I did download a ring tone from Get IT Now the other evening and went to My Sounds in the menu and it changed the sound. After this whatever ring tone I selected would work. BUT after I turned off the phone and turned it back on it continued to play the Kyocera ring tone until I re assigned something from My Sounds. Other than this I love this phone. Granted I am coming from a Moto T720 20 Months old it dosent take much to please me. Some of the things I like about this phone(Ranked 1-5): Size (4): It is small and not being a flip style is working good for me. Voice Recognition(5): This works great on this phone. You can also "wake" the phone up and voice dial if on charger and headset in car without having to touch the phone. Address Book(4):The phone can store unlimited numbers per person with the ability to store street address and email. I havent purchased a data cable yet so I can answer to how well it works in downloading contacts. With the exception of the ringer issue I think this phone is a keeper. It is simple yet is loaded with neat features. I will let you know how the trip to Verizon Tech services goes.
