I have just purchased a used Alltel Kyocera 7135 from ebay, it has not arrived yet, but just looking online I am seeing that there maybe a problem with Alltel activating it. Something to do with no longer supporting this phone.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Kevin

This phone is 7 years old and not e911 capable, which may be part of the problem you'll have difficulty in activating it. Since you're in an area where Alltel will become Verizon, this may further hammer a nail in the coffin of activating this phone.

Give it a try anyway, but don't be surprised if it doesn't happen. If you haven't already, check with Alltel CS to see what they say.

Thanks Mike, that is what I have been hearing/reading. Had one of these phones about 4 or 5 years ago and have yet to find anything that I like more than the 7135. Hopefully I can persuade them to hook me up at Alltel, my contract is almost up so I will try the I'll go to another provider if they do not connect me.
    Thanks again
    Kevin

This is true. I am sitting on one now that I bought off ebay. At first it worked, then out of the blue it I was not getting any service. I called Alltel and they said that their towers no longer supported that phone.:(
