That's cool Bobolito. Do you have any new information on the V3xx?

    Thanks,
    Jay

That's not too bad of a looking Nokia, a little square but I would be willing to check it out closer.

I was not aware that it was already released. Thanks

    Jay

EDIT: I just looked, $79.99 isn't a bad price. My question is that the V3r and the KRZR both cost more than the V3xx??? That makes no sense. On top of that I think the standard V3 should be a free phone now, not $50.

I must have one now. I was thinking... My friend that I've loaned my V3 to qualifies for an upgrade in March. Maybe I can talk her into letting me take her upgrade, and I'll give her my black V3. Then I qualify for an upgrade in November, and Mom qualifies next March. (My prescious......)

You are right, that makes no sense, especially when the V3xx has more features (3G, Opera Browser instead of the worthless Motorola Browser), why would you buy a KRZR or V3r?

I would like to see how Opera looks on the V3xx.

Their marketing and pricing apparently hasn't caught up with the new releases, which is pretty funny. The V3xx is described as:
"New! Check out the ultra sleek next generation RAZR. .... This sleek phone is loaded with features..."

while the KRZR is still described as:
"... the next generation thin line Motorola phone. It is sleek, stylish, and trendy...yet loaded with high-end features."

    :p :lmao:

I am a bit concerned about the V3xx based on what I saw in this link: http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2007/01/26/unboxing-motorola-v3xx/ . It seems that it kept loosing its data connection and I hope it was only just one unit.

Yes, that's a very disheartening report, especially since it doesn't seem to be a preproduction unit.

UPDATE: The standard V3 price has dropped from $49.99 to $29.99 today. This applies to all colors except blue. I have no idea why they are still charging more for blue???

WG, did you mean the V3xx, in that case you probably want to read the link that hf1khal posted below. I know you don't have 3G in your area yet but the problems might be of some concern to you.

There seems to a few posts now that indicate other people having problems with 3G also. This certainly is not good news for Motorola's first WCDMA phone for the US market

You know you are asking a completely biased person this question, to me the Blackjack is "where have you been all my life"?...lol

You know I have had the SX66, 8125, and the QTEK 9100, in my effort to carry only one device and the Blackjack meets my requirements extremely well. What little I gave up in PDA functions (and I admit I do miss my IPAQ sometimes) I got fantastic call clarity, great rf, form factor, and easy one handed operation.

I think this is the perfect opportunity for you to get one play with it and then get the other one.:D

I think there is supposed to be a diference between the 2 (in the 3G form). The V3xx is supposed to support 2.6 mbts while teh A845 (based on what I was told) does not.

Keep on waiting for another year. Are you contemplating a move?

That's because A845 was just a UMTS phone and V3XX is an HSDPA ;)

No, I get full credit. You didn't say full 850/1900 WCDMA. You said Moto's first WCDMA phone for the US market. The A845 was a WCDMA phone released for the US market by Motorola about 3 years ago. The A845 does have 850, but only in GSM mode.

Well the US market is both 850 & 1900, so since the A845 only has 1900 WCDMA it covers the partial US market & so you get partial credit. How do you like that for a justification of what I said.? lol

Ok Jay, I will give this one to you but only because it's you (& you are partially right...lol) & that we will both get yelled at for trying to derail this excellent "Sticky"....
