Yes...I was at clients homes last night needing to reach the office and was getting frustrated by the second!! I estimate is was out for around 1 hour or so.

Boy...it's amazing how much we depend on these silly phones!

And in reality, you shouldn't. They are, for all their fancy look and function, basically just two way radios. Radiowaves are subject to the slightest whims for interference, especially at the low power the phones/cells operate. ALWAYS have a backup in place if you are "depending" on your cell phone for communication.

Landline? Satellite? HAM or CB radio? Those are the only alternatives I can think of.

I ditched my landline, satellite is two expensive and HAM/CB is archaic nowadays (but awesome!) I think for most people the cell phone is it.

The way I figure it, if I can't use my cell phone and I need to use a phone I'll go somewhere that I can access a hardline. If it isn't important enough for me to do that, I don't need to make the call/send the text.

Fourtinately I'm runing DCD 3.3.4 and it's a Sprint based ROM and it has an option to force roaming only. That's what I did and it worked. :D
