ya pretty normal. the boxes dont really "seal" they are just set so you can tuck the box within it self. take the phone out and inspect it you should be able to tell if its new it will look brand new no scratches stickers on them etc.

also it comes with a 1 year warranty and you can get insurance for 4.99 or 5.99(includes extended warranty along with insurance)

Assuming you purchased the phones in a store, the box would have been unsealed (assuming there WAS a seal) by the CSR during the activation process. If you bought via web or telesales, the phone should have come in a sealed plastic bag with the Customer Agreement and activation instructions.

    thx for your replies

btw i purchased them at a store and specifically told the CSR not to open the boxes. The reason is because I am selling them on ebay as brand new never touched.

BTW, the deal came with a $50 mail in rebate (from verizon). The fine print says that the phone must be used on the verizon wireless service but it does not say that it has to be used with any specific line. So can I sell the phone and claim the rebate (I will remove the upc/esn label from the box before shipping the phone).

Usually Verizon's rebates require activation witha calling plan of $39.99 or higher, so you would need to know the number and when the person you sold it to activated the phone with a qualifying calling plan, and there maybe a requirement the billing name match the name requesting the rebate.

ok, I am planning to send the rebate to the person who purchases the phone. If I send them the original receipts, can they exchange or get a refund at their local verizon store (within the 15 day return period)? I don't want to go through the hassle of them returning it to me.
