The iPhone has hardware for GPS installed. Any application that's aware of this will benefit from it, such as Google Maps, Yellowpages, directory search apps, etc. The Weathernetwork app is nice. I use it sometimes. Though I wish it had satellite and radar maps.

A satellite map would be nice. But you can't go wrong with the amount of detail the Weather Eye app has in its forecasts. The Weather Network also has a Traffic Eye application, but it's only for Toronto. I'm curious to see if anyone in Canada's tried it out.

Speaking of weather apps, the Weather Channel just launched an app for the iPhone. It's almost the same as the one on T-Mobile's Android phone G1.

Yeah I've heard about that one as well. But I've heard good things about the WeatherEye app, and haven't heard much about the Weather Channel app.

Update- I installed the desktop application and had a chance to use the app on a Blackberry and the interface is nice. Now if i can only get that iPhone to have it for good...
