Re: July 2010: Motorola DROID X Lands On The Nation’s Largest & Most Reliable 3G Netw If it had a physical keypad and was slightly smaller I'd like it. Oh wait, that would be then the original Droid/Milestone. Hmmm.... PS- I'm really getting sick of press releases opening with the "corporate branding spiel" ex: Verizon Wireless, the company with the nation’s largest and most reliable wireless 3G network, and Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT), a pioneer in the mobile industry, .... Just cut to the chase. ...or maybe I should start prefacing all my posts with "RadioRaiders, the internets most knowledgable and richeous telecom evangelist, blah-blah-blah..."
Re: July 2010: Motorola DROID X Lands On The Nation’s Largest & Most Reliable 3G Netw Gamer03 - Thanks for posting the press release. Here are some pictures of the Droid X
Re: July 2010: Motorola DROID X Lands On The Nation’s Largest & Most Reliable 3G Netw I'd take this over the original Droid. The Droid was far too bulky and heavy for my tastes. I can live without a normal keyboard. Now I have to decide whether the Droid X or Incredible will be my new phone (eventually)...Nice to have two quality phones to choose from.
Re: July 2010: Motorola DROID X Lands On The Nation’s Largest & Most Reliable 3G Netw It seems like every press release has to tout the network and manufacturer (especially if it is a Smartphone that is being released). You should add that to your posts. By the way, hopefully a CelluMap Android app is in the works. Thanks Joe. I forgot to add the pictures, though. Thanks for attaching them. I am seriously thinking about upgrading to this (from my Storm 2) when it comes out in three weeks.
Re: July 2010: Motorola DROID X Lands On The Nation’s Largest & Most Reliable 3G Netw VZW also has a video about the announcement and a bunch more corporate speil. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRhCAtWzp50]YouTube - Here Comes Droid X[/ame]
Re: July 2010: Motorola DROID X Lands On The Nation’s Largest & Most Reliable 3G Netw In addition to the stuff about the DROID* X** itself, I thought the following was interesting Google and Adobe are really coming after Apple with guns blazing! SW * DROID is a trademark of Lucasfilm Ltd. and its related companies. Used under license. ** X is a trademark of the Holy Roman Empire. Used under license.
Re: July 2010: Motorola DROID X Lands On The Nation’s Largest & Most Reliable 3G Netw The whole Verizon/Motorola/Android thing looks like it's slowly catching up to the AT&T/iPhone thing. VZW/Moto is lacking the "sensationalism" of the iPhone (endless media coverage, long lines at stores, etc) but it's nevertheless gaining traction and I think will quietly sneak up on and rival the AT&T/iPhone thing. Actually, VZW needs to play their cards very carefully now, a rising tide of new smart-phones on their network will mean alot more data traffic, and they don't want to get knocked off-balance like AT&T did when the iPhone was released and swarmed their net with "data-hogs". VZW is building out their LTE (4G) network aggressively, and if VZW times it right, their new LTE network could help offload the data from their "3G"* network right on time, and everything could work out very nicely for them. If the LTE network gets delayed, they could end up with an overloaded network and their image as the squeaky-clean network operator could get tarnished... ....of course Motorola will have to start launching LTE devices soon too, if this will play out nicely as I described above... *= I really have a hard time calling EVDO "3G" knowing that it's built on a 2G network and capped at 3Mbps, but since the ITU caved and gave it the 3G blessing, I guess I have to
Re: July 2010: Motorola DROID X Lands On The Nation’s Largest & Most Reliable 3G Netw The difference is that VZW has independent research to lend credence to their claims... that and they know how to use spell-check.
Re: July 2010: Motorola DROID X Lands On The Nation’s Largest & Most Reliable 3G Netw Concur. I have the Droid and have not used the physical keyboard in the last 6 months. After realizing this, I don't think that I will ever own a phone with another physical keyboard again.
