I've been pretty fed up with BT devices, not really being very good, while talking inside the car or in noisy environments. Have the Moto HS700. Decided to be the new JawBone 'ERA'. Has A2DP, and can listen to my podcasts, news, radio, music through it. And so far, I'm very impressed with the noise reduction. Had the house radio up normal listening level, and the ERA cut it out completely, and my voice was good. Nice product. I'll work with it some more, and give some more impressions. One feature I like with the JawBones, is that it displays its own battery meter for Jawbone, just left of the iPhone battery meter...and even tells you in the earpiece how many hours one has left. Does the same for RIM, Android, etc. Nice feature, cause I never knew on other devices where I was in the battery cycle.
My experience with BT headsets and the battery is that you will get a few beeps for a low battery about 35 seconds before it totally shuts off. Very annoying
That is exactly why I like this one; it displays a battery meter, telling you how close you are towards the end, instead of just beeping and then off. http://www.jawbone.com/product-era-overview
I'm very, very pleased with the JawBone ERA. Much more so than my Moto HS700. In fact there is no comparison. Also too, compared to the Parrot BT speakerphone. The Parrot is nice but the microphone is so distant, that the volume is a problem. This JawBone really removed the background noise, and when you where it properly, with the 'tip' sensor on your jaw...the audio quality is very, very good, according to those listening. From my side, the large dynamic range give a good audio presentation. Sometimes it can be a bit tinny, but mostly it is good. I found it depends on what the other person is using too. I love how I can use it hands free to walk to the office, listen to the radio and then use is for handsfree too. Tried VLingo SMS'ing with it and went very smoothly. I understand now why reviewers say that the JawBone brand is absolutely the best, in a class by itself. They gave a nice pouch with about 8 ear tips and ear rings to fool with for a perfect fit.
It is so convenient to have a wireless earpiece to listen to the radio/audiobooks instead of those dangling wires hanging from my coat. I swear that I've almost dropped my phone because of the connecting audio wires. But I needed a way to pause the iPod while it is in my winter jacket. Walked into the apple store for some kind of BT remote, but they offered nothing. Then it occurred to me that maybe I have this already, via Apples voice commands, not just voice dialing. Gave it a try..engage voice commands by holding the JawBone button for 1 sec, say 'Play' or 'Pause' and viola! it worked. Even can say, 'what time is it' and it tells me. Also tried, 'Play Artist james taylor' and there it went. Perfect.
Completely agree with you. I had numerous BT headsets over the past few years and always had issues with them. I got the Jawbone Era this monday and love it. The NoiseAssasin 3.0 is amazing. I drove with the windows down and called a friend, they thought I was in my house. I also love the fact that the battery status is shown on the phone, that is really handy. Like you said, it comes with many ear buds. I always had difficulty getting them to fit in my ear, but this one had so many different choices, I found a combo that fits perfectly. The best headset I have ever purchased.
Congrats! It is a truly amazing device. The way noise canceling should work. I chose the 'flirty' voice. Sent from my iPhone 4
I use the HD audio a lot with this Jawbone. I think the 3 microphones add to the phase noise cancelation. I did manage to get about 5 hours of use out of it, and the voice that goes with the battery was accurate. I especially like the way the volume auto adjusts to the surrounding noise.
Wow, could this be true? A bluetooth device that isn't a piece of ??? I've gone through so many, and have just put up with the issues. I may have to look into this one. The only drawback is the battery meter indicator doesn't work on Android yet... Good to know viewfly and alienware, that you both like this headset.
I still love this BT set. Biggest test is my wife: she doesn't complain when i talk with her on this Jawbone...that is the real seal of approval. Sorry, I thought Android was supported too ( for the battery meter). However you can always tap the BT and a nice voice will tell you how many hours are left. I'm sure Android meter support will come. After all, it can't be hard to code up, esp. with Android being 'open source' and all. Anyone can do it! Sent from my iPhone 4
