I did a comparison of the reports for 2000 and 2001. Here is the results

ATT had a net gain of 4 markets.
Sprint has a net gain of 1 market.
Verizon has a net loss of 1 market.
(Cingular lost its year-2000 SF market to ATT but gained a tie with Verizon for Houston market. Net = wash)

    Spreadsheet available.

And VoiceStream picked up it's first award taking the Atlanta market.

AT&T took Sprint's award for my market (DAllas, Texas).

And I was really hoping Verizon would get it. It would have made my job easier. Oh well, I can think of no one else I rather get beat by. (Of course, AT&T and Sprint are the same company, right? ;))

What's up Kevin! Thanks for asking about the job search. Well, the job hunt is pretty slow. I didn't get hired for Edge Wireless, they opened their new store on Monday without me :(. I am going to Radio Shack tommorrow. I know the manager and I used to work at the store, he said he was hiring so I'll see what happens. And I could sell Verizon Wireless and Sprint PCS, so I'd get a lot of inside info I hope about the wireless world. But having to sell Sprint PCS, oh woe is me ;)lol just kidding Larry :) It wouldn't be the job I want, but it would be something until I find a better job. I am looking all the time, here, but also a lot in Sacramento and in Southern California, I'm originally from the LA area. Lots of jobs, and it's really affordable to live in both Sacramento and in Riverside County in So Cal. Where I grew up in LA, West Covina, is really nice and affordable, I miss it! Take care Kevin :)

    Hey Mike,

Good luck with the job search. I was just out in West Covina the other day visiting the Sprint PCS store there. Our local store in Orange here no longer has the equipment to update software and PRL for the phones and I was in the area anyway so I stopped in and had a phone updated. Have you looked into the Corona area of Riverside County? It's a nice area and very affordable as compared with Orange County.

I haven't, but know about the Corona area, my Aunt lives in Riverside and I was born there too. It is nice and affordable. Any info or help you could give me on jobs there, would be great. I would love to move down there. Find me a job, I'll be there in a heartbeat!! :) Thanks again Larry. You are the man!

I was in the exact same spot as you in June. I took a job at Radio Shack. Most of a sales associates income at radio shack comes from wireless sales. (Walk into any Radio Shack in the country, and the sales associate that is doing his job right will always ask you if you would like a cell phone.)

If you want to work for Verizon Wireless, there are two markets. The indirect helps out by going to different retail stores(like radio shack) and encouraging employees to sell Verizon. The direct works out of Verizon storefronts (a more lucrative place to be, with Sprint running thier no deposit deal.)

To look up indirect management opportunities (I just got one like this) go to www.monster.com and search thier job bank. They post all of Verizon's indirect job openings. (People inside the company get first shot though.) The verizon wireless web site will list job opportunities in the store fronts in your area.

What happened to your old job? How long ago did you work in Radio Shack?

Actually, I was working in sales at Office Depot in Ukiah, in fact I helped open the store in 1999. But, less than a year later, I was laid off due to budget problems, and a few months later the store closed after being open only a year! I went back to school in May of 2000(I already had a BA in history from Idaho State U. and a Spanish Minor)at Empire College in Santa Rosa to get a degree in Computer Support Specialist. I graduated on Feb 22nd, and got my A+ in March. I have been looking for work ever since, this horrible economy, and the rural area I am in, has made it virtually impossible to find anything. I have tons of personal experience in PC's and cellular, and 3 years sales experience. But there just aren't any jobs for entry level guys like me. I guess Radio Shack may be all I can get for a while, though I am aiming my sights much higher, and further away, to Sacramento or Southern California. Oh, I worked at Radio Shack back in 1997, I left them to go to work at US Cellular.

I need coverage in Mexacalli, MX!!!! HELP!!!!!!!

I've narrowed it down to Nextel, Sprint, & AT&T with no guarentees from any of them that we will have coverage in Mexicalli. Who do I choose?

All of these providers say they have coverage in Mexico, but in reality it is southern or central Mexico around Mexico City, not northern Mexico.

Sprint has digital PCS coverage in Guadalajara, Chapala, Monterrey, Mexico City, Tijuna, Enseneda, Toluca, Nuevo Laredo, and Reynosa, Mexico and will be adding more cities in the near future. According to their San Diego service area map, Mexicalli is also covered.

    Hi, Kevin! New user here....

You said, "Spreadsheet available." Does that mean you can email it to me? If so, I would be very interested!

    Thanks.
