Ha, I've often came to this very same thought. It's almost time for a new phone, so who cares what happens. ;)

    ...But I never follow through.

I was actually thinking of getting another case since I am not convinced I need a bigger iPhone. I will have to wait until it actually launches.

Of course things are subject to change. :D

Well, the idea only lasted one day :roll eyes:

I'm just not a guy who can work with a naked iPhone and a pouch-like case combination. It just seem awkward and I don't know what to do with the phone when laying on a table. I will say though, like my iPad Mini, and the 5S, the black/space grey anodization is much, more robust. No problems, and there definitely was something wrong with the black iPhone 5.

I've always disagreed with Mr. Ives and shiny, polished metal or even shiny polished polycarbonate phone/ipod materials. They look really, really nice, but unlike my ole Nokia with the matte black polycarb/plastic backs, it was just less of a concern. Plus they are too skinny and too slippery. Even minor scratches on a mirror finished plastic or metal look unsightly to me.

So I'm back to my favorite case- the Spigen bumper. And sometimes the next favorite, the Spigen Neo Hybrid. The firsts is nearly naked, just the sides and bevels protected.

I guess that is why Apple always makes thinner phones, so with a thin 5 sided case, it still looks thin. For the poly backed 5C, that alone looked interesting to me.

No reason to switch to another phone due to the case however...just find a case that works. Too much to give up.

I think we are all waiting to hold that iPhone 6 (4.7" or 5.5") in our hands. I'm very happy with the current 4" size too. (iPhone 5S with case dimensions).

Will just have to see. I do hope that Apple, like its Mac line up, handles 3 size phones for the future. 4.7" may just be too large for some, especially if a case is needed.

If you stay with a 4" size, I'd strongly recommend getting a 5S on sale. It really is a large improvement over the 5. Camera, Touch ID, Dual flash, and speed just to name a few hardware things.

But that is just my humble opinion.

I've been on Android for two years. Kinda looking forward to what Apple comes up with, although I'll probably stay an Androider.

Welcome back Scrumhalf! Besides the screen size, I doubt there will be enough new things to cause you to switch, if you have been 'apple'd out' with that eco system.

I haven't tired at all from Apple's eco system...it actually just gets better (for me).

Thanks viewfly, good to be back! It's like going back to the old neighborhood and seeing people you haven't seen years! My wife is steadfastly on Apple, so she'll probably get the new device when it comes out. Myself, I want to see how the two ecosystems integrate with car audio/navigation systems before making any moves. I've just ordered a Ford car with Sync and MyFord Touch, so looking forward to seeing how Android and Apple integrate with it in terms of BT hands-free calls, streaming Pandora, etc.

If this is any indication, it's your last iPhone on which going naked will have any upgrade-worthy effect :D

    @dmapr,

Let's hope for sapphire displays; that would be fascinating to see.

Apple makes a great product. Some may not like all the little details or understand the reasons for some restrictions/controls that Apple uses.

However the overall product is very well engineered and integrated between software and hardware, particularly with other Apple devices and computers.

I'm hoping that Apple will have a line up of phones, with the same specs in three sizes. 4, 4.7 and 5.5".

I read somewhere that the mist popular screen size based on installed base is more like the 4.3" range, and not 4.7. At least not yet.

I'm not certain yet that I need a larger screened phone. Especially when I have the iPad mini on hand.
