Lunches were only 25 cents? I can remember 50 cents here when I was in first & second grade. Then inflation hit and by the time I was in 6th grade they were already up to 1 dollar. I remember I had a Land of the Lost lunch box in Kindergarten or 1rst.

Yep, 25 cents at Sunkist (closed just before I finished Kindergarten) Elementary and Workman Elementary in West Covina, oh, and I also had an Emergency and a CHiP's Lunchbox too. I too remember when lunches went they went up to 50 cents, than a dollar, though the kids who got free lunches still did. I wish I had kept them, they're collectors items!! They were metal then, no plastic ones like now. I also remember pay phones being 10 cents, and I also remember when they went to 25 cents, I tried to make a call for my mom to come pick me up from my church activity, and it wanted 25 cents, I was like, what the heck?! lol

The problem with those old metal lunch boxes is that they would rust after a while. Pay phones were only 10 cents for a long time. Probably from the mid 70's up until the late 80's. Right now they're mostly 35 cents around here now and I've even seen 50 cents.

Metal lunch boxes made great playground weapons.

You must have gone to a more brutal school than I did, nobody used them as weapons at mine [IMG] I heard that weapon thing too, sounds kind of silly to me, no offense there Ceno [IMG]

Bummer, sorry to hear. We had a good bunch of kids I must admit at Sunkist and Workman Elementary in West Covina for the most part, and excellent teachers! I remember one or two kids who would tease and harass once in a while, but nothing brutal.

I didn't say he spoke to me! I just said I saw him. Not lying!

OK, OK...The story goes like this: It's one of those things you can remember like it was yesterday. I'm sitting in class (1st grade) and the teacher is rambling on about something. I look at the window, and what looked to me like a person wearing a rather disturbing-looking rubber devil mask popped his head up, looked t me, and popped back down.

Now, being 6 years old of coure I yelled "Hey! Look at that!" and ran to the window. Being in a room of like-aged children, everyone else ran to the window too. Nothing. But I did notice while at the window that we were on the 4th floor.

Later, outside, I look at the side of the building where the window was. No ledges, nothing to climb on. Weird. Funny how I remember that after so long, but I don't remember one other thing from being six.

    There. Thats my devil story!

I was a kid! I didn't know what the F*** I saw. Maybe someone put weed in my brownie, I don't know. Why don't you go talk to the devil Tadlock! Why aren't you at Chuck-E-Cheese today??

Maybe thats how I ended up doing that paranormal investigation stuff a few years ago. (had to quit...too much spooky sh*t) Proof? Hmmm....

There used to be a stupid picture of like the back of my head on a site called shadowlands(.org?) There used to be a section called Ghosthunters at work. On there should be listed a group called ParaEx (Not my group but I helped) If it is still there it would be an ignorant picture of me pointing an IR Thermometer at a wall.

Yeah, it was a littel weird, but good for stories, and it actually became "cool" for a while with all the shows that were popping up on TV...most fake like that one on MTV and that one narrated by the midget from Poltergeist.

Sorry to spook you, I was wearing stilts.... I mean, um, that Devil, he's a tricky fellow.

Speaking of investigating paranormal things, I think some one should investigate THESE creepy little things. I STILL can't figure out what the hell they are.

You almost got me....but I recognized my own trick and when I saw the address bar change, I clicked off. Those things get in your head like some bad sci-fi movie. I have been singing the first 4 lines of that song all weekend.

BTW...I found that link I was talking about HERE.
Hahaha. Delta used to wear earrings. Forget what it says, the Library was booooring. That being said I got a great piece of honest to good evidence of something while I was there.

LoL....Poltergeist was my favorite movie when I was a kid. I could still do almost any line by heart. One of these days, I'd LOVE to have 1, 2 and 3 on DVD....if they ever would make them [IMG]

In my area...there is a haunted cemetary...Bachelor's Grove. I went there once and it was spooky. I saw some strange things, but I was glad when we got the hell out of there....it was errie....plus I didn't want to get arrested(it is illegal to "trespass" in the cemetary)

Thats the paranormal equivelent of working in a Verizon store and having some jerkoff walk by and say "CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW??"

Luckily I am no longer in the biz...but it's still funny to talk about it! (kinda)

This is true. I once had a really heavy plastic one that was insulated. It had a long strap and I whacked this girl upside the head with it because I thought she was talking $%&#. I felt really bad about it and thought the cops were after me. Man, if I had had a metal lunch box I would have done some VanDammage. Glad I didn't.

Also, I wish I had an MP3 Player... I don't even have a computer.[IMG] Just a typewriter and a turn table. One of these days I'll join the 21st Century. Boo-hoo.
