Is this for all GPRS capable phones or just the T68? I too may be getting an 8390 and need to know how to set up iStream and the phone so perfect that it will seem as if Voicestream programmed the phone and offered it themselves.
Those settings should apply for any GPRS capable phone, however some of the names of the settings might be different in the Nokia phone. Aside from that, i don't see why they shouldn't work.
I have successfully sent SMS using the 10-digit number only to Nextel, Voicestream and AT&T customers. I have yet to try Sprint and Verizon. Eventually all Cingular addresses will be standardized to the form 10digits@mobile.mycingular.com
When first started my contract with VS I was told that I could call anywhere with the phone because they offer service throughout the east coast. Since they were giving more minutes than my previous carriers for the same price I decided to give them a try. That was a big mistake. More than half the time I do not have service on the phone or the network is busy. It is ridiculous. What is the point of having a cell phone when you cannot use it half the time. When you VS and all they do is tell you something is wrong with your phone, which is ludicrous. The worse part is that they won't let me out of the contract. VS is the most unprofessional cellular phone carrier that I have come across. Instead of telling me that something is wrong with my phone and telling me to buy one for $100 do something to solve the problem. The reason why I won't buy a phone from them was because I was told by their representative that if the "NEW" phone does not work still, I would not receive a refund. I am so frustrated with VS, so for all of you considering getting a contract with VS please think twice. I am from the NYC area and from talking to people, more of them hate the service of VS. A majority of them have had problems with them in the past.
You are right about that part, Voicestream told you you could call anywhere with Voicestream, they didn't say you could call from anywhere with Voicestream. No provider has the right to say that, because no provider has service everywhere. Therefore, no provider ever says that "you can call from anywhere with their service." Also, you are wrong about the majority of Voicestream customers in NYC hating their service. Just about everybody on this forum who has Voicestream in NYC has no problems with them. In fact, I am chatting with a firend right now on MSN Messenger who lives in NYC and has Voicestream service. He says his service is great, "terrific" is his exact words.
T-Mobile has come a LONG way this year... Most issues discussed in this thread have been resolved. They're not giving up. I think I should never have switched... AT&T might try to stay in the game though.
