I thought this would answer some people's question's about if service is in there area or not thank you
Not where I'm at right now... I'm at my parent's house this weekend. AT&T is the only carrier that works here. -Jay
Yes, Verizon is native in my area, although they're 1900 only. A better map to determine whether Verizon is native or not is their prepaid maps or their data maps.
They are here in my area and really good to. Remember every carrier is going to be in places where others are not sometimes it does not make them any better or worse period (as far as coverage goes). LOL that is funny ATT is no where to be found at my parents lol. But I guess if you didnt know any better your phone would show ATT still but you would be on the horrid Alltel GSM. That is why we both have what we have.
My dad had a Verizon cell phone for a short time. He complained that his phone no longer worked from home, and got the company to switch him back to Cingular. I know from my hacked phones that there are no other GSM networks here. The Verizon phone would have roamed on Sprint if it was available here, so AT&T is the only carrier here. -Jay
The closest AT&T roaming area for me is T-Mobile or Unicel north of Dothan, AL lol; they do use the AllTel GSM north of Albany, though. The Verizon PCS system is good around here. I almost never roam on AllTel or Sprint anymore. Verizon has been expanding their EV DO in the panhandle lately... I had EV DO in the sticks and it wasn't there a few months before. In Atlanta, things are status quo- good service in the areas I frequent.
Verizon is here too but their network quality within a 3 mile radius of my house is horrible. So that is why we will be switching in August when our contract is up.
Wirelessly posted (Walkguru's: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; PalmSource/Palm-D062; Blazer/4.5) 16;320x320) verision never heard of them. are they new?
Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (SymbianOS/9.1; U; en-us) AppleWebKit/413 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/413 es70) Verizon is in my area, but not at home. There is an AT&T tower in my backyard though.
Wirelessly posted (HTC-8500/1.2 Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 6.8) UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0) verizon holds every type of license possible in my area south ga I hear alltel is good but I don't know anyone usin them att is good and alltel roaming is rare when it does happen the call quality is fine, obv not as bad as out west. tmob is ok . sprint would be the weakest by far.
Nope. But they completely surround the Thumb of Michigan. That map is kind of deceiving. You should show their EV-DO / BroadbandAccess Map for a better view of where Verizon ACTUALLY is.
NO that does not show you were they actually are there are still many towers that does not have 3G yet. I would say view the prepay option on the map.
Of course the former Bell Atlantic AKA Verizon is here in the suburbs of Philadelphia and generally works well. The problem is that there are major business and residential holes, Like Media Pa, Chesterbrook Pa, Merion Pa. Gladwyn Pa., Flourtown Pa., more.
It's funny because where i am the closer to the ocean the service is better, but then you over inland you can't even talk lol
Which carrier are you talking about? Verizon or AT&T? I've never had issues with either carrier in Orlando. Is there a "particular" area of Orlando you've had issues???
I am talking about back when i had Verizon in 02 and left the company in 04, i have no clue how they are now. Everybody that has Verizon that i know really has the same problem (cell tower location maybe)
lovely, But i how ever don't by any means hate Verizon it just all denpends on where your at. Like all other wireless service providers.
i havent visited orlando, so i dont know their coverage. but visiting places is different from living in them. there are people that would visit my town with certain services and think they were just fine until they start living in the area and realize that they are not all equal. especially in rural and suburban areas.
Verizon is new in my area, their PCS network is going on 2 years old. Its is not very big or have many customers and has no sales stores other than 1 dealer and Best Buy but they built it really well I was really impressed with what they did in my area which is mega rural. I have towers out in cow pastures 3 miles from a major highway where 850 would normally be the only freasible option but they set up shop anyways. Verizon has only been in my area 2 years but they have more coverage in my area than a Sprint affliates that has been here alot longer. If AT&T and Alltel werent up here (2 dominate carriers) I would definately go Verizon.
Yes, Verizon has a relatively new (~2-3 year old) PCS network here. It covers only the urban area, and once out of town roams extensively on Alltel in the area.
I think thats the problem down here in FL with Verizon, but like i said, " That was 6 years ago they most likey killed the problem by now." LETS HOPE:attn:
Verizon is definitely here in Warner Robins, GA. They weren't in 2002 when I moved here, but they bought the local CellularOne, converted to CDMA, and then massively expanded coverage. AT&T had to follow suit the last couple years because VZW had covered all the deadspots in town. Further south, near McRae, etc, I know a lot of people moved over from SouthernLINC when VZW first put up coverage. That was 2-3 years ago, and I think AT&T may be down there now (they have an 850 license, so I think they should).
