Is Verizon Gonna Step Up to the Plate?

but let me ask you this then:

would you want a cool phone a ton of mins and only beable to use it in a very small area or would you want a ton of coverage the choice is yours but i prefer to stick with verizon wireless. i tried all the other carriers in a prepaid format and was treated very badly what makes u think i am going to sign a contract with you if this is how you treat your non contract people?

 

Please dont say sprint has small coverage area. This is simple not true. If you think verizon is better, good for you. But sprint is NOT even close to being a bad provider (customer service aside).

Sprints new plans are just incredible. Just so people know. If you sign up for a 2 year agreement, you will get unlimited PCS to PCS minutes FREE of charge! There is a promotional code that adjust your bill so you never see the $5 charge.

 

I have to agree with SprintTechRep. I am a loyal Sprint user since 98) Their coverage area is great. I rarely go out of it when traveling. The fact that Verizon is renting out space on Sprint's networkk should tell you something. If you compare Sprint/Verizon on the size of their individual networks (without roaming agreements) their digital networks are almost the exact same size. In fact I would give the edge to Sprint. When you compare the America's choice plan to any Sprint plan, the AC has better coverage, but that included roaming on several other carriers. If you want service that works the same no matter where (including data services, voice & text notification, etc) then Sprint is the better choice, IMHO. Take a look at Spriont's network, then compare that with the Verizon's America's Choice Mobile-to-Mobile map (which is their company owned digital coverage)

I don't know if I am just the luckiest guy in the workd or what, but I have had zero problems with Sprint over the last year. Granted, in the beginning, there were some issues, but I have never had anything bad enough to make me want to switch to another provider. And their rates just keep getting better & better. Currently, I get 1,000 anytime minutes, 3,000 N/W (starting @ 8pm), first incoming minute free, free wireless web, 500 PCS-PCS, nationwide long distance, roaming anywhere on the Sprint PCS network, all for $50/month. How does Verizon compare to that?

Hey Kenny,,, You sure about the mob to mob minutes coming off first??? My rep (who is a good friend) told me that they always take the n/w mins. first when two of us are talking to each other. I just wondered who told you that and if you are sure. If so I need to talk to my rep too.

 

Hi Kenny, Yep, sure enough I checked my bill and I think you are right. I had some calls on a sunday and they went through as mobile to mobile. This ticks me off. I have a friend who is my rep and he upped my second phone to 1000 mob to mob mins for me. However, we are not sure it took on the computer. I sure hope so because if they are doing it this way I will definately go over the 250.

He told me he could adjust my bill for me if he needed to. I guess he may be doing more of that than he thought!!

 

i notice that there are some people on here believe that verizon's plans aren't that great cause they are expensive. i know a lot of what people say is biased towards what service they have and since i have verizon i will try to defend them. i looked at several different companies and compared similar plans. all nationwide and all in the $35-$40 range and compared what you get. here are some comparisons:

so when i look at these similar plans i don't completely understand why people feel that verizon is so expensive. to me it seems that you get basically the same type of plans with any company. i understand that sprint now has VISION which people want, but pay extra for, but they all seem similar. now again since i am a verizon customer, who is very happy with the service, i will say that i feel that verizon is the best out there. pretty much wherever you live. i say this because their coverage is so much better than any other company other than cingular. with companies such at at&t, t-mobile, nextel, and sprint you basically have coverage in major cities and highways. just look at the coverage maps on the websites. i just feel that if verizon is really a little more expensive, even though i don't totally see it, that's fine cause i get 2-3 times the coverage as the others. and being from wisconsin the new coverage in wisconsin has really put verizon on top in my eyes. plus they added a lot of other coverage in other places too to better themselves. anyways, i know that everyone has their own opinion on what is best and what their experiences are. and i am sure a lot has to do with where you live too and what company has the best signal strength etc in that area and how much you travel. but i just wanted to show why so many people feel verizon is the best. both if you travel a lot or if you stay in your hometown.

 

just to update the last post comparing rate plans. i noticed that alltel looks pretty good as well. pretty similar to verizon with price plan and coverage. i am surprised because not too many people mention them when talking about wireless phone companies.

 

While I agree that Alltel is pretty comparable to Verizon, they just dont have the market presence i.e local stores, that any of the other companies have. I know in Michigan they are only on the west half of the state. They do not sell service or have stores anywhere east of Lansing. So even in Detroit they have no local presence.
