I like this message board a lot, but are there any other message boards out there like this one that are a little more popular with more traffic perhaps?
www.phonescoop.com and www.howardforums.com seem to get a lot of traffic. That's too bad because I like this forum better.
the people that frequent this forum seem to be better educated in the wireless field and there's less BS in here.
True... Phonscoop's forum is like a kindergarden playground, only with fouler language, and HoFo just seems to be a giant popularity contest/flame war. This site is smaller, but you'll find the most valuable information here first.
Just as an FYI, phonescoop doesn't have their own forum. They just give you access to the alt.cellular.* groups of Usenet. You can access those and most any group at http://groups.google.com on a slight time delay.
That's true, the people here do seem to be much better informed than other forums (hence this is the only wireless forum I belong to other than cellularphonenews.com... but no one ever goes to that one.) How many of us are industry, I wonder? I don't think working for Perfect F-ing Phones, Inc. counts, however.
I noticed that ATTWS has a forum of its' own and some wireless advisor people are members there. Even has questions and answers on unlocking AT&T phones. Did you know you can have an S46 unlocked? I learn something new everyday...........
What do you mean by unlocked? Is this just when people self-lock their phones and need a way to unlock them without the code or does this have to do with the SIM Card or Service Programming Code? Excuse my ignorance, I don't really think about doing anything weird to my phone because I just use it to make phone calls.
Quite a few of us here are industry, even outside of PFP inc. When I'm not busy fearlessly leading PFP, I work for VZW corporate, as do a few others on here. Alot of people on here are indirect agents (Delta), and I even know of atleast one member who works for Motorola.
like my brother said, When im not working as an On-Air Personality, im behind the scenes of RadioSmack as a Wageless Information Agent. Ohh yeah if you have Sprint, 3gupload.com has a forum.
We've secretly placed ourselves in both Verizon's direct and indirect channels, in order to eventually gain control of the company. I got carmel corn at work today ^_^
Carmel corn is good. Unfortunatly, Verizon doesn't have service here nor do they have a call center here, so it would be kind of hard to work for them although they apparently never stop working for me. Also, I can't work for another wireless provider for, I think a year and a half after I leave here because of the contract I signed with my job offer. I take that stuff very seriously, not that I would disclose any proprietary information anyway. It's like Tony Montana says, "There's two things I got in this world, meng: My word and my ba**s and I don't break 'em for nobody." Also, I don't think I'm going to switch jobs because of candy. Well, maybe but it would have to be pretty damn good candy.
As a verizon agent, I can confirm the carmel corn. However, as an agent, I got the leftovers after ceno got through with it.
We have pretty decent vending machines here. Good sandwiches, which is a lot to say for a vending machine. Sometimes we get candy, although as of yet, not carmel corn. We also have CSR appreciation week (which is coming up) we get pizza and whatnot, that's alright especially since I love pizza. Too bad they always get pizza from the place I used to manage before I started working here.
We get free soda, popcorn, crackers, graham crackers, candy, iced tea, coffee, tea, hot cocoa, espresso drinks, oatmeal, cup-o-noodles, etc. The perks of working in IT.
If I had all that free food I would be much larger than I am now. Right now I'm large, 6'4", 285... if I had mad free food I would be, like 6'4" 485... and that ain't pretty.
maybe i need to get a job with a cell company...free food, nothing better than that. not that i can post here anyway.
Free booze is better than free food. I can post that here. I do, however think it would be much harder to do my job if they gave us free booze at the call center.
