I was wondering if it is possible to go to a local Sprint store and get a "loaner" phone (like the Samsung A900 or the Sanyo MM-7500). I would like to see if Sprint has improved the coverage in my neighborhood (it was bad as of mid January of 2005). Is this all possible? Also, if I do sign up for Sprint online and port my number over, and try out the coverage and find that it isn't worth anything, can I port my number to Verizon and return the phones and not have to pay a ETF (as long as I am within the trial period)? Thanks in advance.
If you port your number over to any carrier and cancel before the end of your contract you will loose your number. My advice to you is to activate the line with another number to see if it works. I know my store does have a demo line that we loan out. But if the local store to you doesn't, then try it that way. If you activate a line with another number...and it works fine and then you want to port your number from Verizon..or whoever, then call and ask if you can port a number into your account, and if they don't like that, cancel the line and make a new account under a SERO plan
You should be able to port into Sprint from Cingular, and if Sprint is still bad, port that number to Verizon within your trial period. Getting a brand new number would be easier though, and then porting your Cingular number over to Sprint in case that works for you- otherwise you can just keep your old Cingular phone/number of port them to Verizon or whatever you wanna do.
