I am a 34 year old bklyn girl who has never had a cell phone! - I need to get a plan and phone for me and for my husband in the next week or two and have been reading these boards to try to get a grasp of the whole cell phone world. I got some advice on the NE board about which plan to buy - verizon family plan. I will go to a verizon store and talk with a sales rep to make sure it is a good plan for our needs - I will mostly be using it on my daily commute between Philly and NYC on Amtrak. So, I am reading that the VX6000 is fantastic but I wonder if it is too much phone for a novice - I need to keep our bill as low as possible, so I don't think I will get extras like web browsing or sending pictures or whatever else costs extra. I also don't care about ring tones, games, etc. If I just want a good quality phone for talking, would you still suggest the VX6000? If not, what do you think is a good basic "starter" phone for Verizon? thank you! Thank you!!
the lg vx 4400 would be a great phone for you IMO, it has almost all the features the 6000 does for the exception of the camera, and the 4400 is analog capable so it would come in handy when traveling on the Amtrak and going underneath those tunnels.
either the vx4400 and or the moto v60i. the vx4400 is nice if you want a color screen. the v60i is a good regular phone for talking.
yes i know that Stuup, but if you read, Weebklyn is looking to get new service with Verizon and wants to know wich would be a good phone, she's not looking for a raplacement, but nice try.
Ahh, but she can get the vx4400 new AND get the v60i on ebay and switch off!!! how great is that?!... this quote is getting rediculously long.... and im a senior member now!!! go mee!!
well to make this quote even longer, i don't think she wants to spend more money than she has to, she's already looking for two phones, one for her and her husband, by the way, Circuit City has the 4400 for $89.99
I myself was not looking for a camera phone, but kept hearing about how great the vx6000 performed. So far, it is meeting or exceeding the hype. Even if you are not a frequent cell user, you want the quality of your calls to be the best possible, no? Since you will be activating a new account, you will be able to get good deals on phones. As others here have recomended, check out phones from LG and maybe Samsung too. I would rather spend $100-$200 and get a good phone, instead of getting a piece of junk for free. I think you're on the right track though, a plan from verizon with an LG phone. Maybe check out Circuit City?
