suncom, isnt it the southern version of cingular or sometin? or are they separate entities? i know they are big in SC.. also, if ur driving and as u drive u look at ur cell and notice ur BARS are fluctuating indicating low signal strength, does that mean ur going farther and farther away from a tower that has ur company on it? or ur near no towers at all? which one?
Suncom and Cingular are not affiliated. They used to be somewhat affiliated because they used to "be a member of the AT&T network", but since the ATT/Cingular merger they had to separate. Cingular got the VA Suncom customers & network, Suncom kept their holdings in the Carolinas and also gained some Cingular customers so the FCC would approve the deal. Currently they only have roaming agreements to my knowledge. -Jay
i had asked earlier exactly what roaming is and do the companies have to have agreements for roaming, heres whati always thought it was. "i thought roaming is when ur too far away from ur carrier or any of their towers and the bars on ur phone are low so it bites of another tower in the area ur at? is this close? what is roaming, and where do towers and the comapnies paly a roll with it?
