I really wanted a Iphone, but there plan is kinda turning me away. Im not a huge talker and could make the minimum minutes plan work,But the extra $10 bux for GPS turn by turn and another 5 for 200 texts kinda pisses me off. Now sprint has the Instinct with the same mins and unlimited everything else "web, text and gps etc. for $70. I much rather have the Iphone but dont want to spend more then $70 a month "dont even want to spend that" I ran into someone at a party with a Iphone and talked briefly and I brought up all the extras for text and gps, they mentioned there are way around that,Like the phone already has a gps that works well but I guess not turn by turn? and the text they said you can download something and use that for texts,Can anyone explain or maybe have ideas or mayeb know of plans where I can have a fully functionally phone for about the same as I would spend through sprint with the instinct?

I just got back from best buy and was talking to there people and they said I could get me a iphone with data plan 200 txt msgs and my wife just a standard phone with 200txt and share 700 mins for both for around $100 per month "after my wifes work discount" Now that doesnt include the turn by turn gps which really chaps my ___,but people say you dont really need it if you use the standard gps map thing already on the phone.
But they kept trying to push a $15 per month charge for insurance ,it covers faulty or damaged phone, except lost or stolen. She said if I didnt get that and my phone was broken for some reason I would need to spend $600 to replace it WHAT!!!
Im thinking I could buy a used one or something for less then $600,Hell couldnt I even break the contract for $200 and start a new plan for $200 and it will still be cheaper then that. Any thoughts on this matter?

Well, seem like you have quite a collection of questions here and I'll try to answer as much as I can. So, here it goes:

    1) "She said if I didnt get that and my phone was broken for some reason I would need to spend $600 to replace "

1A) Not true! If your iPhone been phycially damaged beyond noirmal use (as long as it is in one peice) or has been water damaged, you can get a new or refurblished iPhone from Apple for $199. Click here for $199 replacement and here for a general Apple iPhone service FAQ.

1B) You can purchase AppleCare protection directly from the Apple store. What that AppleCare program is that it covers your phone from malfunction for two years from purchase date. Some warranty issue may be like blown speaker, MIC not functioning, dead pixel, etc. What the warranty doesn't cover is damage resulting from accident, disassembly, unauthorized service and unauthorized modifications. The warranty will also be voided if you jailbreak your iPhone and if it was been water damaged.

    2) "Now that doesnt include the turn by turn gps which really chaps my ___,but people say you dont really need it if you use the standard gps map thing already on the phone"

2A) I think what they meant was something like Google map for the iphone or this. If you know how to play around with with your phone or willing to spend time, you can research more on adding something like TomTom navigation software onto your phone. Also, google maps uses data access while if you install TomTom, you basically preloaded all the map, POI, etc onto the phone already (hence, no data usage).

    3) "I really wanted a Iphone, but there plan is kinda turning me away."

3A) Well, there are a lot more alternative solutions to that if you AT&T plans are within your budget. You can buy an unlocked or locked iPhone from someone (eBay, Craigslist, friend, etc) and activate it on the TMobile postpaid plan (you must have a JB/Unlocked phone to use on other network). I personally never experience iPhone on TMobile postpaid plan, but heard it was possible and much cheaper. Just try and browse around the Tmobile website and see how much it cost for the features you need.

3B) with this soluatio, you won't get to use an iPhone as your device, but will save you a lot of money in the long haul. Consider getting Sprint SERO plan or sign up with Boost/MetroPCS. Sprint SERO has two tier: old SERO and new SERO. The old SERO has a monthly fee of $30 and includes: 500 minutes, unlimited data, unlimited text, roaming, unlimited night+weekend at 7, unlimited sprint to sprint calling, and others (check my image below). The new SERO has everything that the old SERO has to offer but is $60 a month with Sprint navigation ($10 value), Sprint TV/radio (~$10 value). Aside from Sprint, I think both Boost Mobile and MetroPCS has plans around $50 a month for unlimited everything (just check their site for more information).

No problem and welcome to Wireless Advisors (WA)! :)

Currently, you can get the iPhone through Apple store or AT&T.com with the following price tier:

    iPhone 3G (released 7/11/08)
    8GB: $99
    16GB: $149

    IPhone 3GS (released 6/19/09)
    16GB: $199
    32GB: $299

The $147 price you see at Wal-Mart is the iPhone 3G 16GB version. When buying buying cell phones, including iPhone, from 3rd parties, they typically have their own T&A along with the T&A with your wireless company. For an example, you can buy a HTC Touch Pro from Best Buy for $99 while Sprint store and site charge you $399 minus $100 rebate for a total of $299. If you get the Touch Pro from Best Buy and decided to cancel in the next 3 months, you'll have to pay an early termination fee (ETF) Best Buy AND another ETF to Sprint. Some stores or e/retailer that I know does this are: Best Buy, Radio Shack, and Amazon.com. I don't know if you Wal-Mart does charge you an ETF for cancelling so soon or whatever, but I would ask first before buying. Personally, I would avoid Wal-Mart anyway since there is only like a $2 saving comparing to buying it from AT&T or Apple.

By the way, T Mobile is no longer allowing the iPhone on prepaid.

I think you meant this, which only affects the Sidekick data services for iPhones. I currently have the TMobile pay as you go prepaid and it worked as for I just tested it now.
