iPhone 5 Case?

Ok, this is really more of an "opinion," thing I guess...

I pre-ordered the iPhone 5. (Jay, spare me your comments on that.) which is hopefully going to be here on Friday...

I have had the iPhone, 3, 3Gs, and 4. I have only ever carried my iPhones without an Otterbox for a matter of days. (Usually while waiting on my Otterbox to arrive...)

I had decided that I was going to switch to the Lifeproof cases, as I've heard tremendous things about them, and they're not as bulky as the Otterboxes, but as of now they still don't really seem to know when they'll have the 5 cases available... The Otterbox still shows "pre-order" but I had heard they would start shipping those yesterday...(September 17)

I baby my phone, and it's rare that it's even put in a situation that would cause damage, but I'm still very apprehensive about just using a regular, run of the mill, "designer" case. I just know, with my luck, if I go without an Otterbox of Lifeproof case, that'll be the day I drop it, and I'm out some major cash to replace it...

So basically I want opinions on a case, what should I do?!

I went with the Otterbox, and was very pleasantly surprised to find they have changed their cases. The outer cover seems to be a lot stronger and less flimsy than the gel used on the old one.
