A friend is in USA and needs a mobile internet plan with no usage quota. I mean he can download as much GBs as he want. He said plans without contract are very expensive there. I see here, people share their incredible 4G speeds here. So I wonder what kind of plans you're using and how much you're paying there? Also need an advise on what he can use there. He has an iPhone 4S.
I'm on AT&T with a contract family plan. I pay $25/mo for unlimited 4G internet. I see unlimited 4G advertised for some prepaid plans, but the carriers that offer it do not generally have good coverage.

@Maximum Signal You're right, it's cheap with those speeds. But traveling person won't need unlimited internet actually, just to be able to be sure he can access it everywhere. But it's not cheap enough just to feel it won't end up and he'll be able to access internet whenever and wherever he wants. Thanks.
Maybe I misunderstood, but my understanding of the original post was questioning the costs of unlimited data plans in the US.
That is what I took from it . His friend wanted download all the GB's he wanted . In english that means he wants unlimited . People do not realize cellular broadband is a finite resource not infinite as they wish for Free !
Yes he wants to have unlimited data. He wants to use it as much as he wants. But I believe as he'll be travelling he won't be able to download continuously due to battery reasons, and he may not need unlimited at all. Anyway, he decided to pay 70 $ for unlimited plans. Here unlimited tariffs start from about 5$ to 100 $ depending on the speed and fair usage limit. When the limit is exceded, it is dead slow. I hear some can watch YouTube videos in 120p. Some operators have buggy tariffs which don't take fair usage limit into account. A friend were using one of them and downloading about 90 - 100 GBs monthly. That was about 35 $...
