I have a Sony-Ericsson 810i quadband phone, unlocked. My present Sprint contract is coming to an end, and I was wondering if Cingular offers month-to-month service that includes International roaming. Of course, I have asked at my local stores, but the salespeople don't ever seem to know much about this. I know that I can get local sims in many countries, but found it difficult to do so on a recent trip to Costa Rica. My friends who had Cingular, with international roaming activated were able to place and receive calls with no problem. Expensive, but worth it at times. But they were on contract, something I'd prefer to avoid. Thanks, DC
http://www.cingular.com/media/gophone_int I can find internationally calling but it doesn't say anything about roaming outside the US.
Cingular does allow you to go month-to-month if you bring your own equipment, but not many people at the store will do it for you apparently and neither will some CSR. If you can get it though, you'll have all the features/coverage with a monthly plan, but will loose unlimited Mobile to Mobile calling but not have a contract... Have you ever looked at T-Mobile? They are also a GSM provider, offer cheap one year agreements and also have excellent international roaming capabilities.
