International Roaming with Cingular

    Anyone used a GSM phone in the UK? I was wondering what kind of cost per minute they charged when calling back to the US and also calling inside the UK. No one at Cingular seems to know. I've called tech support 3 times and went to 2 different stores.

    That's what the website shows for my zip code (California GSM service)...

    my advice about Cingular international roaming: DON'T!



    International Roaming & Rates
    Rates For Calls Made While Roaming Overseas & Canada: Local calls are $2.49 per minute, except in Canada. Roaming to Canada is $0.64 per minute. Long distance is included with all outbound calls while roaming internationally. Rates are generally applicable to mobile-originated voice, data, fax, and/or Interactive Messaging.


    Rates For Calls Received While Roaming Overseas & Canada: All incoming calls received while roaming overseas are $3.99 per minute. This includes the $2.49 per minute for air time plus the Cingular long distance rate. This represents the charge for delivering a call from your Cingular home area in the U.S. to your location overseas.

    All incoming calls received while roaming in Canada are $2.14 per minute. This includes the $0.64 per minute for air time plus the Cingular long distance rate. This represents the charge for delivering a call from your Cingular home area in the U.S. to your location overseas.
    Note: Roaming and international calling are not available with Prepaid service
