I've never used instant messaging on a cell phone before, and I was interested in using AIM once I receive my phone. I was curious..Is there some sort of charge for using IM? Thought I'd also ask how long it takes to have your order processed. I placed an order Thursday night and when I checked my confirmation number today, it still said my order was in progress.
I don't know what the cost of using AIM on your phone is, but there is a cost. I have a free service that will convert my instant messages to a text message and forward it to my phone. Then I send send a text message back and it is converted into an instant message and the reply is sent the the person I am talking to. It works much smoother than my description so you can look into that option and just have a text plan. The problem I have with this service is I can not view my buddy list or start a conversation. Using AIM on the phone is possible, but I have never tried it because I pay Sprint enough money every month already.
That's what I really want to know, why does it cost money for the AIM application? Not only did T-Mobile not charge me for AIM, it was even included on the phone. And even if you used the AIM application it counted your usage as text messages, not as data, so everyone with texting could use AIM.
when it comes to premium content..............Sprint charges for everything.............but if you go to the message center on your phone and select IM and Email and then select AOL then you can select to use the web based version of AIM on your phone for free but the application is a lot more convenient
