Very interesting I think they learned a few things from AT&T & others with thier 3G slow rollouts and how it can be an issue when you say 4G and it's not deployed right.

The problem with the article title is that it's false, since reading the article Verizon said they will deploy it in 25-30 cities in 2010 and continue to roll it out throughout 2013. So they aren't deploying it all at once everywhere which is what the article makes you believe.

You might wanna check the link to the article. It never states it is all at once. It only says "mass LTE deployment"

But if they finish covering their entire network by 2013, (basically blanket the US in 4 years) it may be because AWS 1700 and 700Mhz of clean spectrum makes it easy for them to deploy fast without sacrificing services in the 850/1900 bands. AT&T on the other hand, has been struggling for over 5 years to upgrade to 3G and they still say it will take them until 2011 before blanketing their entire network with 3G. So that's about 7 years to finish. But in AT&T's case, we're talking about an in-band upgrade, which means that they have to balance the two networks and in some cases sacrifice one in favor of the other. It's a tricky game for them and that slows them down. However, AT&T has its share of AWS licenses as well which I hope they will put to good use soon.
