Okay everyone, curiosity has gotten the best of me and I have not said anything hoping not to jinx things. But lately my service has improved to an acceptable level in my home here in Worcester,MA. or at least to what it used to be. My phone signal is still all over the place at times but mostly I now have 3 and 4 bars of signal strength, clearer and less dropped calls. So what is the reason which I cannot find, is it because they may have added a panel to an existing tower, built another tower, or is it because the leaves are all off the trees allowing the signal a clearer path?? I am guessing or hoping Cingular did something about all those trouble tickets and what I have noticed is back in October there was a day when I had no service at all for a few hours maybe that had something to do with it. Anyway the improvement is noticeable and appreciated.

I have always heard that they can make adjustments to towers to help troubled areas. My guess is something related to the blue orange merger.

I am hoping that is the case thanks but I have a feeling it may be the trees although it sounds silly. Last year when I migrated at this time the service was the same, but once April came along my service went south.

I'm thinking this may be leaf-related. You will probably notice an increase in service once integration happens though as there should be more towers communicating with your phone. If you have manual network selection enabled on your phone try and see if there are other networks present and can you register on them.

Jay I usually keep my phone set at 850/1900 and I thought Cingular with the 64k sim does not let you manually set your phone. When I go into network selection it has Automatic,850/1900,or 900/1800.

Its not the SIM that disables the manual network selection, it is the software flex installed on the phone. If you have a data cable for your phone you can reflex the phone and enable this feature. I did this on my Moto V551.

Thanks Jay I do have a data cable, besides T-mobile who else would Cingular roam off of? T-Mobile's coverage is terrible around my area and through Holden so they are out of the question. I also do not think the N.E. integration has started or if it did is complete.
