I guess that is allright, but I am going to miss having a personalized license plate in my signature...
what was the real reason as to not allow us anymore to use pictures in our signatures?? man, it was a nice thing to have!
I imagine it probably takes up too much room on the server, causes pages to load slower, etc. The pictures you could add to your signiture did not have a maximum size so I'll bet it did things to the server... bad things.
Yeah I agree. It was cool to put my name on a license plate for my signature...but now it is my avatar :biggrin:...It's all good, I guess.....
Thats not true... if you use EXTERNAL Links it doesn't cause anymore load. I wanted to use my signature which is hosted on another site. no IMG For sigs sucks.
The main reason images are not allowed in signatures is for those users who are on dialup connections - pages take long to load with images in the signatures no matter where they are loaded.
I am on a dialup connection, and on the old website, it loaded right up for me...I guess maybe you are referring to AOL...which is the slowest dialup provider around...IMHO
i use dial up AOL on the old forums and it wasn't that slow at all... as a matter of fact i might be looking for a fast dial up provider in the meantime, Adelphina is getting too expensive...
My comments re: slow on dialup was just a summary of a few comments that were received from users (this was a while ago so I don't recall who)....I'm on DSL so I am fine
I think it depends on where you are. My uncle uses AOL in Michigan, and it is soooooo slow IMHO. My family and I use AT&T Worldnet, which gives us unlimited internet, which is sweet. :browani: Our dial up is fast, considering it is dial up.
