I couldn't help myself. There is such a plethora of information to be discovered here that can not be necessarily be learned from a corporate owned wireless provider store and their sales reps. I told myself no more coming here after I got in trouble for so-called "unprofessional behavior" on an internet forum. I know I should not have disclosed my company email address, work location, and- what they call it- "act as a representative for the company," which I'm not. What surprises me is that I got in trouble for posting here from MY HOME. Work computers are firewalled from accessing anything else that directly related content or competitors websites. What even more amazes me is that the user who "chose to remain anonymous" was not even a subscriber to the service provider I work for!?!? He/she was a T-Mobile user and had nothing better to do TATTLE on me (shows how mature he/she is- and also how much time they have on their hands!!) by voicing an opinion to a corporate executive and thus the BS filtered down the channels to my manager and then to me. I'm not sure if any of you remember me, but that is my story, AND NOTICE MY SIGNATURE HAS NOTHING, AND I MEAN NOTHING TO DO, NOT EVEN CLOSELY RELATED, NOR DO I REPRESENT OR SPEAK ON BEHALF OF ANY WIRELESS PROVIDER. ALSO NOTICE, REGARDLESS OF MY "AUTHOR ICON" ON THIS BOARD, I DID NOT MENTION MY EMPLOYER'S NAME ONCE!! Peace all...

Let me be the first to welcome myself back!![IMG]

Thanks for the welcome...I know, they must have been bored or have nothing better to do?? Or probably bitter they're collecting unemployment checks now (although nothing wrong with that) but feel they have to RUIN someone else's life. I would like him/her to confront me...they actually went through the trouble of mailing a copy of the posts I made on the board along with a typed up letter to one of the company's area presidents. I mean, what the hell is that about!?!? Ohhhhhh well, peace all...

How'd they prove it was you anyway? You can still effectively deny everything, right?

I remember hearing about this. Whoever did that really needs to find some help. Even though I do not know the whole story, going and doing something like that is uncalled for.

Unfortunately, I was dumb enough to list my name, Jonathan Rogers, my job title, the store I work at, and my company email address. That was my mistake but regardless of that (even though I'm not a spokesperson for the company) I felt that my posts were purely FACT or my OPINION. Nothing rowdy, no curse words, no fighting...I mean WTF?!?! That guy/girl was not even a Verizon customer who felt "disturbed" maybe by one of my reply's. He/she was an anonymous T-MOBILE customer and general low-life, have too much time on their hand, probably unemployed due to the fluctuations in the market so they have to ruin someone elses life, like mine and choses to write letters to the area president of the company. He/she also took alot of time to print out and highlight every post of mine. Ridiculous...and you know NO teenager would make a prank like that...this was a late 20'ed to middle aged man who thinks he'll get FREE service for a year or something or some brownie points, OR MAYBE EVEN A TROPHY saying "1st place- biggest d!ckhead".........................WHATEVER, i'm just filled with alot of hatred, fire, and venom towards this character and I need to vent!! peace all...

whoever reported you is a retard (and you know who you are!). Its not like you went on tv news or something and assumed the title of company spokesmen. This is a forum, kinda like a chat room. You should be able to say whatever you want. Nothing said here is official or necessarily true. But just to be on the safe side, a disclaimer is a good idea.

    Welcome back!

    I didn't report herbrock.

But I do think that if you work for a wireless provider and you post information in a user forum like this, you should disclose that fact. Would you take advice on cars from a GM dealer, knowing that those ugly plastic trucks they're selling now would never get a negative comment?

I have a life, thank-you, and I want to know whether my information (good, bad or ugly) is coming from anybody whose paycheck comes from a wireless provider. In my profession as a newspaper journalist, this is required and it's called "full disclosure." It helps avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest.

Just my opinion. Now for the nasty responses...

Not a nasty reply, but you are absolutely right. A representative should provide correct information. Thats why you should call the provider and ask your questions directly through official channels. My point is, there is nothing official about this forum. Its more of an exchange of thoughts and ideas/oppinions. If someone, even a claimed rep tells you something on this board, and you follow that advice and get funny billing issues, you have yourself to blame. People on these boards are very knowlegable....but to cover your own azz, you should contact the appropriate people who can actually notate your account in case something goes wrong.

I don't think you really need a disclaimer (even though its a good thing to have) BUT your screen name or signature didn't say:

    Jonathan Rogers
    Xxxxxxxx Xxxx Rep
    Xxxxxx Communications Store
    Xxxxxxxx.Xxxxxx@Xxxxxxxwireless.com

that was my mistake...but i shouldnt have been penalized for it...this is a opinion board not fact, and my job title didnt say "official spokesperson" for that company...im just a busy "worker bee"..........peace all

Sorry, to hear you went through such an ordeal just to chat with some friends/ associates on the web. That is complete BS for someone to do that. guess they have a lot of free time unlike those of us with jobs. I too work for a wireless provider (indirect market). and the comments and suggestions i make are based on fact and opinion, just like yours and i invite anyone who knows better to correct me when i make a mistake, but if someone did to me what they did to you there would be he!! to pay. I would find out who they are and begin with crashing their whole computer system form the comfort of my favorite chair at home. And oh yes, if you're still out there... i can do it. but, i won't. i dont like getting in trouble for internet fraud and other such things.

anyway, that really bites that you got in trouble, but be the bigger man and make the best of it. you'r obviously smarter and more determined in life.

i know this is an older post, but i thought i'd reply anyway
