How do you transfer your phone book (numbers)?

I only had one phone on Verizon and never knew how it was done.

Do you have to take your phone to a store to have them do it?

Yep. You gotta goto the store or you can sign up for backup assistant ($1.99 a month) upload from your old phone, Then activate the new one download backup assistant and it'll auto load :D

Other option maybe bitpim and a data cable for both (or a bluetooth connection to your computer)

Or if you are a Merits Program member, phone book transfers are free.

Depends on how old the original phone is, it may not be able to run the download manager. What phone do you have and which one are you wanting to buy?

    I don't have one now.

I'm going to get one tomorrow.

I don't like that it's such a task to reload numbers.

There should be an easier way. A chip or something.

I hear you that would be nice, unfortunantly the only three options at this time are the backup assist (1.99 x2), in store (10$ usually, free for merits customers) or manual entry (free :p )

The in-store transfer charge is $10, at least that's the cost here in OH.
